Default PacMin Boeing 777-200 1/50

So.... I have this, it is becoming quite difficult to manage. I would like to hang it, any suggestions on how to hang it? Does PacMin make hanging stands for it's 1/50's? The TV is a 50" in the background, FYI.

It's new home is wingless in my office with the wings on a table (padding underneath them).

I've contemplated selling it, but I just can't bear to part with it! ergo, what would it be worth anyhow???

That is a beautiful piece...I would say that 50th scale is right on the money..
If it were mine, I would come up with a wall mount with an arm that swings out and mount it where the display stand hole is in the bellly of the fuselage congrats...

Just came back from Chitown saw Wicked...

Thanks for the compliments! You should have seen the Fiances' look when I picked it up here in Chicago! The box was HUGE!

I believe it measures approximately 48" x 48". It is PacMin, the box said so at least. The box also had the foam inserts as well.

Crownvic- thanks for the ideas, got me thinking. I've seen Wicked twice :-)

Anyways, some more pics. It has a few scratches on one wing and the side decals have a slight unevenness to them (age?) otherwise it's in good shape!

I want to visit your office Make sure you have a good hold to the wall. Treat it like a flat screen TV that you are mounting. Don't do like that guy in the radio shack commercial that hung his TV on a nail.

I know, my fiance has a 3 year old nephew. I lock my office when he's around. Maybe I should put a NORAD style door in, just in case

A lovely model! I have a Virgin Atlantic A340, Aeroflot Ilyushin IL62 and IL86 in 1/50. In order to hang a model this size safely you are going to have to insert hooks or eyes into the models wings/fuselage, do you really want to do that to such a wonderful object? I did think of doing that to my biggies but just couldn't and it will affect the value and appearance of the model if you do. My advice is don't rush into doing it or maybe go the wall mount route. At least you don't have to house three of the beasts...but I love them all!

Need a kidney I love the IL62 and IL86. Are the IL62 and IL86 PacMin?
Any photos? I love the Russian Iron. Closest I have is a PacMin 1/100 IL96 (no it's not for sale in case I get asked again ) -

Wow, incredible stuff. I passed on a 1/50 PacMin 747-400 from the New York NWA ticket office. Needed a little repair on the wingtips, but I wanted it BAD! Someone was selling it on VWVORTEX Aviation's section, gone now I imagine. Was a good price at $500, tho shipping was a bit brutal.

Kindof addictive the 1/50's aren't they? I'm now soley a 1/200 and 1/100 collector. I sold off all of my 1/400's, with exception of a lone 747SP.

I do like Pacmin models! That IL96 is stunning. Both my IL62 and 86 are Soviet made and came from Aeroflot offices in London and Brussels so they are official Aeroflot items. I do have two 1/72 IL62Ms, one in Interflug colours and the other in Soviet era Aeroflot as well as a 1/72 Tu154M in CSA livery. The IL62s were made for me by Executive Display Models in London, they also made a 1/72 Ilyushin IL18 in Aeroflot for me, the Tu-154 is a Westway model and to complete the set I also have a 1/48 Tu-134 in the old LOT colour scheme, this is an original Tupolev design bureau model. All of them are of just as high a standard as Pacmin. I shall take some pics and post in near future as soon as I can solve the focus problem on my camera...Stay tuned and keep that 777 firmly on its tripod-or at least wall mounted

sorry mrzfxr,
the model you have is probably not done at PacMin US. It might have been done with PacMin UK. The tooling looks like a standard PacMin, but not the graphics. PacMin does not put detailed door markings (ie: red bands around door handles and descriptors). At least not for ones outside of Japan (ie: ANA & JAL). These highly detailed ones are much sought after by that market. BA did not have much relations outside the UK, they typically used Space when it was still in business and going to PacMin US for models was not their choice. PacMin made models for Boeing and Airbus for BA, but those were very exclusive to certain deliveries and their ceremonies. The 777 that you have could have started there and had it redone. Or possibly, someone ordered a blank from PacMin and got decorated elsewhere.
in the know.

No need to be sorry. Interesting information, I like the model quite a bit. It is indeed rare- haven't seen another around either.

I feel I would attain the ultimate PacMin if I could find some Russian Iron (ex Tu or IL jets) or a 1/50 747SP. Doubt it will ever happen, but stranger things have happened...

If you contact Pacmin, they can make a custom model in any livery subject to having their graphics team making a design. It's a bit pricier to make a single model, but the prices go down with the more models ordered (like anything the prices go down with bulk).
