Default Auto Art Models 1:72 WWII Fighters

Has anyone heard of this company?? The only model they have right now is the P51D mustang. The detailing is superb with moving flaps and elevators.

Auto art make diecast model cars (mainly 1:18) and are towards the upper end of the market with regards to detail and price. I'd be very interested if they started going into aviation as I have quite a few of their model cars.

Interesting....

I saw the prototype of the Auto Art P-51 in scale 1/48 (!) at the Frankfurt Motorshow 2007 displayed at the booth of the German main retailer for Auto Art. It was the only aircraft model inbetween dozens of cars, of course....
It was really highly detailed with moveable flaps, etc. The retailer explained me, that he has had this prototype already since two years and he does not consider it anymore to be launched to market, as the final model would likely become too expensive and 1/48 market for airplane model is already fully booked.

It would be interesting for me to learn, if finally Auto Art decided to go for it.

He was close to sell me the prototype after the show, but he asked too many Euro.... I am not sure, if it was made already out of Die Cast or still alu tin sheet....

And I ended up getting it! I just wish they had more aircraft. This seems to be the only airplane model they make.
