A friend of mine just sent me the picture of this model of a Dornier Do-26. It is the first prototype "Seeadler" operated by the Luft Hansa and appears to be full metal, scale prox. 1/72.
Any comments? Greetings Chris |

Chris, stay close to that friend of yours- that is a super model. I doubt if it is a recent one as aluminum casings are extremely hard to make. Gary fields in the US used to make a Sikorsky and Boeing flying boat {and a DC-7} in alu, but ceased doing them some time ago. then Paul Benn in the UK did a few of the Short flying boats, but that too was short lived. I have examples of all of them and they are wonderful models.

Hello GR,
it is a re-casted one... ;-)))) As Paul Benn made only UK types, we focus to the German ones... We are cooperating with an alu caster and from time to time we "harden" our phantasy. The DO-26 is one of the latest. If you like, check out Aeroscale , here you can find also other recasted planes. We do not make money with it, it's just to complete our collection with pieces not being available as antique models. Greets Chris |

What a great site and a huge selection of deck models. I was very surprised you produce these some of models today- congratulations. I do not collect desk models except for seaplanes and planes I have flown. I flew a combat mission in VN in the A-37 and was delighted to see a model of this on the site. It took me a long tme to find one for my collection.
Say, I didn't see prices on the website, or under each item but what would you alu D0-26 cost? {grwebster@me.com} I also happened to see an image called ''B26 Marauder USAF, 1:72, ? USA, original and unidentified''... I can tell you the model was a presentaton piece {not an ID mdel} made by Bronzart in the early 1940s. It will have on the undersdie B.26.PROP.U.S.A.C. I can't confirm the aluminum ash tray stand as being original, though, as I haven't seen one like it on an original Bronzart piece. It may have been a wartime theater of operations 'trench art' addition or a later add on. Also I believe the unpainted metal model identified as being ''FW-200 Condor, 1:72, US ID-Model USA, repaired'' is also a Bronzart ID model. Check and see if underneath it says F.W.KURIER.PROP.U.S.A.C. If so, it is a Bronzart. No dates as Bronzarts did use them. Additionally, I can identify the ''Corsair,1:40'' as being an early 1940s Topping manufacturers presentation model, the stand is probably not original as I have never seen one like that. |

Thanks for the comments. I'll pass them to my friend Andreas, who is in charge of all these US made models. He has some connections to USA and grabs them there whenever he can find them.
All the models being shown on the regular pages are of course not for sale. When we cast models, we usually make some little more than the number required for ourselves, especially if we receive "orders" from friends. After the run, the mold is gone and a second order is not possible. It is impossible to make money with this "business", as you can't charge much money for unfinished models. The finish is that difficult and time wasting, that the final model would become too much expensive, so we do the finish just for ourselves. It's hobby, not making money.... Nevertheless, a Dragonfly could be an interesting next project..... Greets Chris |
