Hi Marc, Very nice collection with some unusual types. I've been collecting since 1975. I have only three models with a German connection, a 1/72 Ilyushin IL62M Interflug, 1/100 Tupolev Tu134A Interflug and a 1/72 Baade 152 in prototype colours. I really like your Modern Air Convair and the Saunders ST27. Thanks for sharing

Thanks a lot guys !
@ Interflug 62M : The Saunders is very special, but it is the ST28, not the 27 ! It is the C-FYBM-X. It is the 5th ST27, but converted into a ST28. I bought it from a guy scotland who found it on a flea market. No idea about the history of that model. Under the fuselage is a sticker of the manufacturer, it says : AGM, Hospital Road, Hunslow Middlesex. Anyone knows anything about them ? ![]() ![]() @ Garudarod : It is 1/72. All metal made by Matthys M. Verkuyl. I guess it is a DC-8-55. I purchased it from an Austrian Collector. You can say that this was the start of collection models and I really love that one very, very much. Except a very few decals lost, it is in perfect condition. ![]() ![]() @Crownvic: The Modern Air Convair is made by Schaarschmidt, Berlin. Scale is 1:100. I was very lucky to get that one. I was searching through ebay and suddenly I saw this one. The seller just put it online with option "buy know". I was after a model like this before, seen on ebay, but I guess the seller sold it outside ebay, so I took my chance and bought it this time ! It was from a french collector. He told me that he recieved the model from an aunt, living in Florida, who worked for Modern Air as a Stewardess. The body is of cast-metall, but the wings are of sheet metal. ![]() ![]() Nice that you like my collection ... Last edited by The airplane guy; 05-18-2008 at 05:45 AM. |

Thanks for the info Marc. I had completely forgotten about the 28! I have seen that model makers address on another collectors model, I shall see if I can find out more.

Considering it has to be at least 35years old or more, its in fantastic condition. If you ever decide to get rid of it, please let me know. Great collection indeed.

Marc,
that's in fact a great collection. If you continue like that, you will soon run out of space..... Interesting to see another AGM model. I have a Nimrod made by them and this was the only model so far I knew made by this company. Seems they made mostly (if only?) English types. I have also no information available about this company, but the quality-standards are pretty high. Guess, this ST28 is also made from metal? Greets Chris |

@ Garudarod : No way, I am not going to sell. It is really my favourite piece !
@ Flieger : No, it is not metal. I do not know what it is made of, but not metal, resin or plastic. Seems a little like wood, but it isn`t. Scale is 1:42, I guess ... @ ccs757 and Santos : Yes, thats an inflatable Chavez. A friend gave to me on my visit to Venezuela in February. When you are frustrated you can punish and hit him like a punshing ball ! That friend in Venezuela works for that last independend TV Station that Chavez wanted to close ... I am not making comments on other countries politics ... but he seems to be very ... ähmmm ... special ![]() Last edited by The airplane guy; 05-19-2008 at 07:59 AM. |

Great collection. Who is the maker of the Dan Air Bac-111? It looks large and has landing gears which is always a nice find. A lot of vintage models in your collection which are tough to find.

Hi Marc,
schöne Sammlung!!! (great collection!!!). As an avid Lufthansa-collector I especially like your LH 707s! I have both of them in my collection, too. My recent addition is a Verkuyl LH 707 in 1/50.Nice to see the IF200 707 in Ecuatoriana-colours in the upper picture. I don't have many non-Lufthansa models - but that one was a must for me!!! Just love it!!! Viele Grüße aus Stuttgart nach Solingen!!! (Kind regards from Stuttgart to Solingen!!!) Michael

@ TL925 : Actually I do not really know who made this model. I bought this model from a collector, because I was so very impressed, because I have never seen such a model, so bis (somewhat roung 1:45 scale) with gear !!! I voice in my mind said : I WANT THAT !!
Actually I want to sell it. It doesn`t really fit into my collection and I am more after vintage models. So if you or anyone else wants the BAC, send me a PM. @ 727pilot : Hallo Michael, a 1:50 Verkuyl ? Lucky guy ! I would love to have that too ... I am not after Lufthansa, but Verkuyl (but soo expensive ...) Where did you get it from. A guy from the states offered me one, but when I asked for the price he never replied ... The Ecuatoriana was a "must have". It is simply beautiful. I do not understand why they are not making more of these in the different scemes that Ecuatoriana had ... ![]() A Air Niugini in 1:200 with the bird would be great too !! Greetings to the German South Marc |

Here she is: Got her on German eBay two weeks ago for a reasonable price. A real big and heavy thing - nearly 1 meter long weighing more than seven kilograms.
Overall condition is OK. Some decal-loss but nothing damaged or broken off. Also you can see paint spots here and there because the previous owner had the model stored in his car garage. Unfortunately there is no stand - but I don't know if these models ever came with a stand. My guess is: They were hung-up in Lufthansa-offices or travel agencies. Anybody have any information about this? I would also like to know how old this model possibly is. Late 1960s??? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All the best! Michael

Really a nice piece ! I have not seen it on ebay ...
Don`t restore it. It is far too good for restauration ! I am sure it had a stand. 100%, as I have seen models in that scale before. Take a look : metal civil = 1:100 The first on the right. That was the typical Lufthansa Stand, as most modelmakers were forced by them to use that kind of stand. |
