Hi There,
I have build up a webside about the models of the VFW 614. My collection is really small, so I would like you to add to my webside by sending you photos and informations of your models of the VFW 614. Together we can build up a real nice "virtual museum" of the VFW 614. The side is : Die VFW 614 im Modell - Home Thanks a lot and I am really looking forward to recieve plenty of emails from you !! Well, thanks guys. It is not so easy to find people who are willing to present their models on websites.
I added two more models today. Some friends were willing to give me photos. Thanks a lot for that. ... yes, the blue model seems to be a very common one. There are more of that in collectors hands than any other VFW 614 model (except that from MVM-Solingen) Greetings Marc |

Hello Marc,
within this week I will send you picture of two rare 614 types: A Verkuyl metal 1/72 US Coast Guard and a Schaarschmidt prox. 1/100 out of metal sheet (blue/white prototype). The US Coast Guard showed in fact interest in the 614 and finally this potential order became the last chance to keep the manufacturing of the plane alive. Verkyul made (?) some models in this livery. Once I was able to get an original Verkuyl USCG decal sheet and used a blue/white model to convert it. So the model is not original, but very close. In fact I have never seen an original USCG 614 model. I am also not sure if the original was metal or resin made. However, the USCG ordered a different type and this was the end for the 614 ![]() The website is very nice, indeed. |

Hi Flieger,
thanks a lot ! The Coast guard seemed to be very, very interested in the VFW. I have some documents that VFW made for the Coast Guard, technical description and stuff ... I am really looking forward to recieve your email ! Marc |
