For $1.99, I can overlook the thick blended winglets and HUGE landing gears... ![]()

I am guessing that the janitor at AA approved of this one. No way it made it to the regular licensing guys.

![]() I'll tell ya one thing ... the engine pylons are almost as good as some of Gemini's early efforts (747-100s/200s/400s), even though these wings are made of plastic ... did I say that? ![]() Last edited by MarinerOne; 11-25-2007 at 07:06 PM. |

their planes were allways terrible. I remember when I was a kid when they had several ones out and I kept buying them. my friends and I would play with these in the dirt like our matchbox cars. They had some really nice ones including the Concorde, a Fedex A300, and a Continental Dc-9, plus others. This was WAY before I started collecting the collecter style ones.

The original from the 90s was entirely die cast metal; this version reputedly has plastic wings (I haven't seen it) so it's more of a Dragon Wings.
I do have the new DHL cargo jet that looks something like an Il-76 - it is not the BAe 146 for sure. The Continental DC-9-30 you remember was probably an Ertl model.

![]() These are nothing new though, I have quite a few planes that they had made that I got when I was really young, some are in ok shape, others need some new paint on them. Amongst them is: CO BAe 146 and DC-10 FedEx A300 Iberia A300 BA Landor 747 and Concorde Air France Concorde "Forestry Service" C207 These are great if you want to bring up a little collector, I will admit that though. I even have a little Matchbox airport in boxes somewhere in the attic too!

Well, I think it's a nice toy! Don't confuse it with collectors planes, they're not toys!

Here is an original Matchbox Sky-Busters #SB-40 737-300 from the early 90s back when they still were sold in boxes.
Note the engraved windows. The tampo printing is pretty good for a toy. It's all metal throughout, and in a color scheme not often seen on a toy. ![]() ![]()
