Liftoff is at about the 2 min mark. Sounds kinda like a castrated 747 might sound like.

nice! wonder if those things can have their own ignition in their engines so you wont have to risk yourself in front of those props on startup

Those particular RC engines, no, the only way to start them is to hand-crank the engine. I have a friend who does RC, and his Stearman has the same size engine in it, his plane is 1/8 scale. It's a large engine, and the electric starter that would be required to turn the prop would make the engine too heavy and expensive. That is one awesome B-29 model! I would love to watch that fly in person.

The B-29 is quite amazing....but I think its been only slightly outclassed by this beautiful beast:

Weighing 300lbs, with a 23ft wingspan and 8 turbine engines is this the largest RC plane in the world? Not only does it look like the real thing - it actually sounds like it too!

Just so everyone on here know, this mighty BUFF is no more alive, it crashed at one of the events last year!, it was total loss. Gordon and his team built2 more of these mighty machines and those crashed also, so he is no more allowed to built more of these massive models at a cost of $70,000ea approx!...

Sorry to hear they're all gone. Perhaps he'll try a C-5 next?

I didn't know he had built more of those monsters. That was probably the most beautiful, most awesome RC i've ever seen, and it was heartbreaking to see it crash. I'm sure nobody will insure those things cheaply, and maybe one of the reasons he can't build any more of them. In the original crash, he was hit by a wind gust and over-compensated, causing the plane to bank too sharply. Sucked that it couldn't be blamed on mechanical failure....
