Some years ago I saw a large Boeing 707 at a Toy Fair made by Tomy with working retractable undercarriage and very nice, but in SAS airlines colours. The Box described other versions as being available in Lufthansa and BOAC colours. I have been looking for these without success, though I did see a USAF Air Force One version sold on Ebay a few years ago.
Anyone out there come across the Lufthansa or BOAC versions in their collections? Ralph Morton |

Wow, I didn't know "Tomy" also made a 707!
I often see the Vickers Viscount on eBay with the moving stewardess inside - but they seem to be more plastic than tin...I'd sure like to have one of those 707s for my collection of Lufthansa tin-models!!! BTW, I recently bought a Lufthansa 707 made by "Alps". At the moment it's on its way from the U.S. to Germany. I'll post a picture here as soon as I receive it. All the best! Michael |

I have seen three versions: the Intercontinental red/blue, the Lufthansa, and the Air Force One. All have plastic wings and retractable gear (switch on upper body). I do not have this plane in my collection, but it is a nicely-modelled toy 707.
I have not seen a BOAC version; however, I have seen a smaller, BOAC 707 by Marx (14"), battery-operated, offered by British sellers in on-line auctions. |

Scale is approximately 1/100. It has a retractable undercarriage but unfortunately there is no sign as to whether Tomy is the manufacturer or not. On the lower fuselage it only says "Made in Japan". But still I guess it's a Tomiyama model because the plastic wings with very detailed control surfaces remind me of the Tomiyama Vickers Viscount with the same feature. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All the best!
