Default VFW Fokker 614

I generally collect 50s - 70s jet airliners in scale 1:300 - 1:400. Unfortunately, this rather unique German airliner doesn't come in these smaller scales so I've added my first 1:100 to my collection. It's in the manufacturer's prototype livery. I'm highly tempted to strip it down and have it repainted in the German Lufwaffe livery which looked really great on this aircraft. The Luftwaffe just phased its' last few VFW 614s out in the last couple of years where they had been used by the German government for VIP transportation. I'm rather happy to have this one. Anyone have a Solido Tupolev TU-104 they are looking to sell?

That's gorgeous Anthony!!! What scale is it in? Looks like it's almost ready for the Luftwaffe livery. The only other airline that purchased this aircraft as initial customer was Cimber Air of France I believe. I heard it was an extremely quiet aircraft to fly on. Too bad it never caught on as a regional airliner.

Hi Gerd,

I hope you like the model ... did you paint it in Luftwaffe colours ???
The VFW on the photos is a very early model from Verkuyl in factory colours. The was actually no "real" VFW 614 wearing these colours, just some models used for very early brochures ...

There is still one VFW 614 flying. It is in use at the "Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt" .

DLR - Institut für Flugsystemtechnik - In-Flight-Simulator VFW 614 ATTAS

I am going to see the plane this weekend and I am really excited !
