Pacmin Ryan Air Boeing 737-800

Hi:

I received a couple of years ago a 1/50th scale Pacmin Ryanair model. The model is a Boeing 737-800. The model is big, and I have never had it out of the box. I am thinking about selling it but would like to know what it is worth. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello,

Good question! This model if, in mint condition, could probably be worth around $500. I have seen many 1/50 scale models for sale from Pacific Miniatures in many different places (ebay, other sites...) and that's the typical price for a resale one. If you can get more, go for it! Maybe even $550 or so.

Some more information - PacMin no longer will sell 1:50 scale models for retail sale. I contacted PacMin and they confirmed that they do not do 1:50 anymore except for airline customers, therefore I would put this one MUCH more rare than my previous post. Looks like the 1:50 scale will become a very big (literally) collectors item! I'd value it at a couple thousand dollars knowing this information.

Anyway - interesting that Pacmin no longer will sell the 1:50 scale to the public, they are really beautiful models!

Actually that is not true. PacMin still sells 1/50 to retail customers.
I bought a 1/50 A-320 from them recently for around $475. They also have others avail. like 777. Hope this helps.

I should clarify what I posted before. I just called PacMin to confirm, they will NOT produce a 1/50 scale model for retail sales other than what is posted on their retail site. The ones you mentioned are on their retail site and are far less rare than something like the RyanAir 737-800 model that was originally posted. The two you mentioned are on the site for sale: TED A320 1/50 and United NC 777-200 1/50.

Otherwise, PacMin has confirmed: no 1/50 scale to the public.

Thought I would clarify what I was told.

A quick note: You can also get a 1/50 through certain airlines. These airlines have accts. with PacMin to produce their airplanes and promos.

I have bought from the airline's directly too.

Alaska airlines also has a 1:50 Disney for $850, but it's out of stock.
