Did the Indian Airlines Caravelle ever fly in these colours??? I was too young to notice but probably you have some more facts.

I even saw a similar plane model for sale in eBay but did not take it seriously.

These were delivery colours, however the IAC logo is oversized. The model is based on the old Dinky, without moving rear stairs. These used to be sold at Delhi and Bombay airport shops together with ex Dinky Comets and Viscounts in BEA red square markings. UNlike the others the Caravelle was entirely printed, the others had pretty cheap stickers that came off quickly. There were also smaller 747 with jewelled engines based on the Matchbox/Schabak 747 in 1/600 scale. These came in AI, BA and other airline colours. Pretty crude but nice toys for kids sitting in the lounge waiting for a plane a 2 in the morning.

I am not sure, if this is correct. This Indian company "Nicky" copied or used the old moulds from the Dinky Comet and Viscount, but the Milton (!) Caravelle should be a different casting to the Dinky one.
Milton made a copy of the Corgi Concorde.

Default Indian Airlines Caravelle

Thank you for your information about the Bombay Mumbai gift shop airplanes.

From what I understand, the Nicky Toys Comet and Viscount were Dinky Toys molds. The Milton Caravelle is different from the Dinky Toy.

I do not generally come across Nicky, Milton, Maxwell or any other Indian-made die cast toy. This one is special to me because it's so hard to find here.

I do not think that th Dinky Toys Caravelle has a moving rear stairs. Perhaps you are thinking of the Tekno Denmark Caravelle instead, which indeed has this feature.

The Maxwell 747 is supposedly based on the Schuco, a forerunner of Schabak and in 1:600 as well. None of these firms has anything to do with Matchbox.

About the Matchbox- I am referreing to the arrangement of the wheels on these 747's. The body style is very crude and looks to be inspired by Schuco, while the wings seem to be inspired by Matchbox as well.
I may be off on the Dinky but I always thought that Dinky made at least two moulds of the Caravelle. This looks like the earlier one. I have a Dinky France Caravelle with moving airstairs at home- at least I think it has moving airstairs as I have not had a chance to look at it for a while....tells you how much I get home, Anyway I love these Caravelles, regardless who made them and where they are from. They go great with the MAxwell Indian Airlines crew bus (totally out of scale, of course) and the Indian Oil/Bharat Oil Tanker trucks! (BAsed on Budgy toys????)
Here are some Dinky toys

The Dinky Caravelle has moving rear stairs and a fixed undercarriage. The Tekno Caravelle has both moving, rear stairs and gear.
