Default De Havilland Canada DHC-8-3** Dash 8 (1/144)?

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me out. I am looking for a 1/144 De Havilland Canada DHC-8-3** Dash 8.

I did a quick search on the net, but have not found one… do they exist?

Thanks for any help on this matter,
Cheers
Paul

Good luck. I don't think one is made either in diecast or plastic kit. The only plastic kit I know of is the 1/72 Hobbycraft of the series 100, An example is viewable here:

http://modelairliners.hypermart.net/...ct_Code=HC1345

Hogan and Long Prosper had nice pushfit examples of the series 100. I have one in British Airways livery. But they are in 1/200.

Good hunting.

Hi Planecrazy,

Thanks for your help, but it looks like I am going to hit a dead end with this one (unless I build it myself, which is more than likely now).

I need 1/144 as that is the scale of the airport I am building (having a runway longer than the house is a 'minor' drawback though, and I'm pretty sure my partner wont appreciate the odd airbus taxing through the living room).

Thanks again,
Paul

I will be building it come January, or at least constructing one terminal to keep my A319 happy. I'm designing the website at the moment, so hopefully by the end of the year when the sites up, there will be some "work in progress" pictures taken.

I did a lot of "umming" and "arrring" over what scale to build it in, but thought 1/144 should be stressful enough without having to be prescribed 'special pills' by the doctor for doing it in 1/72 (which is just sheer madness).

Thanks for the link btw!

Cheers,
Paul

I am also a member of the Airliner Modelers Digest and ask there if anyone knew of a 1/144 DHC-8 series 300 model and there is!

Sasquatch makes a 1/144 kit of this aircraft and CBS models has it and decals for several liveries. Check out www.cbsmodels.net The model is listed at:

Well, put the word out and you hear from all over the world!

Gastón Roca
www.nazca-decals.com

Gaston says he will shortly release a 1/144 resin series 300. You might want to contact him.

Hi Kilmurray,

Yes, CBS models have the kits. Years ago I helped Dean who first owned Sasquatch design the B-1900D in 1/144. Their great little kits, though you will have some sanding to do. Here is a pic of their 1900D that I built almost ten years ago!

Paul,

Nazca has in fact released the Dash 8-300. It's pricey, but a nice kit. Just got mine today and it's complete with full detail decals and even a ground plate for display.

HTH,

Alan
