Sweet pix gavman, especially like the Model Power Apache!
By the way, do you or anyone else have any pix of the Air Command Apache diecast model (or even the forces of valor one)? I had seen comparisons of the AC & MP versions previousle in a thread, how does the forces of valor one stand up to these two. Which one of the three is better? I'm interested in getting an apache diecast model so I'd like some opinions from some of you experts. Also, are there any 1/72 apache diecast models out there? I'm sure they'd be small but it'd be nice to match the scale with my aircraft models. |

I can normally overlook minor flaws, but when it comes to Forces of Valor (FOV) aircraft, I gag...
![]() Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, I didn't have a digital camera at the time when I inspected the FOV F-14 Tomcat, AH-64 Apache, and UH-60 Black Hawk, otherwise I would have inflicted a great deal of pain and misery on my fellow collectors. They are all really quite homely to look at, what with the "pimply" rivets on the helicopters and grime everywhere, even on the display stand's nameplate. For an early perspective on the FOV Apache, before I consigned it to the boneyard, see 1:48 scale Forces of Valor AH-64A Apache. So far, I don't think 1:72 scale Apaches are on the horizon, or Cobras for that matter, but I'm hoping that Dragon Wings learns the error of its ways and makes an announcement in the near future, just so they can keep the 1:72 scale Dragon Armor M1 Abrams tanks that I'm planning on getting company. I think that Corgi has a "small are big & big are small" policy with regard to its aircraft, so that larger planes are in 1:144 scale while fighters are in 1:72 scale; whereas, helicopter gunships can be in 1:48 scale, but transport helos have to be in 1:72 scale. - Gavin |
