Thumbs up 1/33 Austrian Dc-9 Finished

I have finished the repaint of the Austrian DC-9 that was discolored by the sun. Wings are now atached and the model is hanged from the ceiling. I have also burned and weathered it and now it has the real aparience of an old DC-9 in the last years of its life that has seen it all. The model is completely finished now and I will continue this summer with the Condor 727.

Thumbs up AWESOME!

Jesus,

This is an amazing piece of work!
I really like the accuracy of the static discharge wicks on the wingtips and tail surfaces, etc, That is a very realistic addition.

Is this a manufacturer's model or a kit?

Really great job!

Don

Thanks for the information, Jesus!

For the amount of work and the attention to detail you have invested in this one plane, you should be promoted immediately to Master Collector!

I am sure you must take a lot of pride in your work, it really shows.

Thanks for sharing,

Don

I am still amazed!
Can you just imagine how great one of these in Delta colors would be?

I would just be thrilled!

Can't wait to see the Aviaco and the Condor.

Jesus, you've got to be one of the most talented model builders I've ever seen. After you're done with them, your models belong in a museum.

And I had forgotten all about carboard models - especially the cardboard models I built many years ago (which were quite forgettable after I got through with them). I think they were made in Germany (or The Netherlands?): Lufthansa Constellation, KLM Electra and Swissair Convair 440. There might have been a 4th but I don't remember what is was.

Your work has blown me away. Anytime you feel like posting more pictures I'm sure we'll all enjoy seeing them.

Thanks

I remember seeing a 1/50 or larger Delta 727-200 model made from paper/cardboard in 1986 but i can't remember the company name.

The most amazing thing about this model and Jesus' work in general is their realistic appearance.
Photoshop a background (an airport, sky) and you will never be able to tell if its a model or a real plane.

I also believe this is a model good for a museum.
Keep up the good work, Jesus!

Absolutely Outstanding!!!!

Totally fantastic work and a piece of art to say the least!!

I've seen your thread Jesus and am totally overwhelmed with the level of detail and professionalism that you have applied to each model....totally awesome and I'm so jealous..as I'd love to be able to build a model like that. They're something to be really proud of!!!

Many thanks for sharing them with us....and keep the coming please.

Best regards,

Dave.

Jesus----If I had your levels of skill and talent, I'd drop everything right now, travel to the Smithsonian in D.C., and get a full-time model and diorama-building job at the Air & Space Museum!!! The only conceivable critique might be of your decision to hang that bird from the ceiling---nowhere have I ever witnessed such incredible flight deck detail, and that needs to be viewable!!!! Meantime, I've got a collection of about 150 plastic propliner kits, all waiting for a WORTHY builder---wanna earn some $$$???

I too made a futile attempt at putting together these cardboard models a few years back, and had absolutely no luck! It was a major pain in the ***! I wound up tossing em in the trash after cursing and pitching a fit, so my hats are off to you for a job well done... I had the KLM DC-10, Delta 727, and Swissair DC-9
