Default Replica Radial Aircraft Engine ?

Hello, I am looking to get a replica Radial Engine in small scale. The type used in WWI timeframe aircraft. I was hoping someone here might have a link. After many hours of research all I can find so far are plastic models kits of a LaRhone in 1/6 scale. I am looking for something already built with some use of quality parts?

I do have a price limitation but still think something must be available somewhere.

A couple of years ago, a fellow was walking around the Grass Valley Air Show with some beautiful hand made engines one was about 7x7 or so mounted on wood. Wish I could find him now.

Any help is much appreciatted.

Chris

Default regarding a/c engines

HI! There is a company that makes very limited larger scale models of aircraft, ships, and trains..in addition to military type models. Their web site is finearts-models a something along this line...check with google search engine and you'll find them..Anyway they do have an r2800 radial engine that was used on DC-6'S and they make several WW1 type model airplanes. Whether they will sell engines to those types you'll have to contact them and find out....that radial engine is absolutely beautiful but the cost is about 1200.00 or so....check it out and see if this is what you are looking for. This is museum level type of models....especially their B-25 and B-17....winged racer

Chris,

check this site out. They are the most unbelievable cost-no-object models anywhere.

The B-17 prototype was just finished and the 18 foot long builders model (including interior) of the Titanic was displayed at the National Geographic Headquarters last year.

Default Thanks

That was a good looking model engine, but too rich for me.

I ended up getting a Lahrone Engine Kit, for $35.00 wish me luck.

Thanks for the help. Chris

I believe a plastic kit manufacturer called Williams has made some plastic model kits of radial engines. I believe they are still around and should be available.
