Rescued from an antique store in Montreal with the assistance of a friend for $75 (thank you again Richard). Laboured over for 40 something hours to restore massive hull damage with 3M automotive putty and mega sanding, to the point where my iPhone no longer recognizes my fingerprints on the home unlock button because they're sanded off. Then brought back as the first gen. livery of Air Canada in late 1960s colours with the talented graphic designers at FastSigns in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. 33 inches nose to tail, here she is! All done but a gloss coat.

Wow, what a gem! My favourite Air Canada livery. I like the cabin window treatment too. Well done, and thanks for sharing the pics. Maybe you'll post another pic or two following the gloss coat?

Neil.

I certainly will. I just need to let some touch ups cure for a couple of days.

Great looking model. Just curious, do you have any "before" pics of what it looked like?

Yes, great work! Congratulations!

I have a 1:50 Skyland Lufthansa 727-200 in 1970s livery that I would also like to give a little treatment, too. My main problem is: Where to get decals that size?

Fast Signs can do it. They did mine. There are 575 of them around the world. Check them out.

Thank you for the advice! I see that "Fast Signs" has a branch in the United Kingdom - so I will contact them there. What should I ask for? Model decals? What kind of information do they need?

Hallo 727pilot

Eventually I can offer you to scan my 1/50 decal sheet for a DLH B727/030 D-ABIZ and send it to you ; then you paste it on ink jet decal paper, i think you can have a fair result even with ink jet printing.( just need to paint the tail DLH blue, and add some windows for the 200 version)

Cheers, Dominique

Hi DLSAN,

that is very, very kind of you! Unfortunately I don't own a printer... :o So I would prefer having some decals made by a specialist. Well, I'll try the way Air Canada Collector went with his decals.

Again, thank you very much for your offer!

I see Fast Signs is out my way too. As a prior post asked, what do we order? Do they make regular decals?

Was a pleasure to help ! Mine is an old AIRPLAST B727/200 ex.....JAT (yes !!); in order to use my B727/030 (or 100 ) decl sheet, i should have have to reduce the lenght of 12 cm (6 + 6) one of theses days. May be I'll keep you and DAC friends posted..

I have several DLH large size silk decal sheets stored somewhere ; if you need one day, let me know.

Let me intruduce you my scary B727
