Question Pac Min Question

I recently ordered my first Pac Min model from the Continental store. It was the CO NYC / Peter Max 777. I was dissapointed with the quality of the model (blistered decal,...), so I returned it to the store. The store sent me another model, which was even worse. Is this normal for Pac Min models? For $335, the plane should be far closer to perfect. My only other 1/100 model is an AA MD-11 by Desktop, and although it's a more simple livery, its quality is far superior.

They must gotten a bad batch of models. All the Pac-Min models I have ever got have been excellent. When they applied the decals I know in the past they use SOLASET, which makes the decals snuggle down, and eliminates air bubbles. I consider them the forefront on these types of models. The lines are much more accurate than those of AirJet, Atlantic, Wesco and the Philippines Mahogany wood models. Pac-Min is a solid resin injected mold, which is CAD a designed from the actual blueprints from the aircraft frame manufactures. The only other models that are comparable to Pac-Min would be Space-Models out of England.

Here's one of my 777's a Cathay Pacific 777-300:

I only have 6 PacMin and they are all perfect. Sounds like you were very unlucky.
Not sure if it was there before but in the pacMin website there are links to the various airliner shops that cary their models.
The current offering is a trio of 727's in 1/100...

Contrary to my collegues experiences, I have bought lots of Atlantic Models and a few PACMIN. Try Atlantic, they have always done a good job for me, and hey, if you have a problem, call them and talk to the owner, he'll get things straight for you.

Hey Monarch,

Pacmin's website here in the U.S. is www.pacmin.com. The only way I know to check on what they offer to the public is to go to an airline company store (in this case Monarch), and check there.

To my knowledge, Pacmin doesn't sell directly to individuals, other that very, very limited specialized offerings.

I love PacMins. They recently delivered a brand new 1/100 scale final config 787 in the new Boeing house livery to my work and it's set up in a glass display case. I spend a lot of my lunch time staring intently at it
