I have acquired a B707 Lufthansa Model and would like to know if anyone has any information about it. The model has a 30" wingspan and is in quite good shape. It was manufactured by a company called "Raise Up" in Rotterdam Holland, and it was distributed by a company called N. DeFilippes in New York. The person that gave me the model said he had it for about 31 Years so base on the age of the B707 I would guess this model to be about 35 years old. Anyone have any idea what something like this is worth??

Wow! You got the big one! I paid just over $200 for a smaller version of the same, about half the size of yours, about five months ago and that is an excellent price - seen it for over $300. VG/Ex condition. Needs a stand !
Several years ago I saw somebody asking $700 for the big one (Air France) at flea market - I am not sure if that was a good price then. Some of the prop planes are very expensive. I only have four - one Raise-up and three smaller Verkuijl (all made in Holland).

Thank you for the reply, the paint is a bit faded and I was wondering if it would hurt the value of the model if I had it professionally repainted back exactly the way it was?

No, certainly don't repaint it just because of some slight fading.

Take a look in Ebay and you will get a good view over the value of such models. Condition is directive, while a bit of fading or small chips give no big influence to the price. Larger damages would recommend restauration to recover full value.
Original stand is important as well. The small LH707 from Raise Up is also within my collection, it is one of the more common models (nevertheless expensive...). The big one is quite rare. Do not start a collection of those models !!! Otherwise you will lose wife, house and dog!!!!!Cheers Chris |

DEPENDS ON THE WIFE!!!
Attached is a photo of the 707 in LH livery from Raise Up. It's not my one, picture was taken out of the I-Net. It was also available with a more simple stand (round black tin plate base with chromed stick). Scale is 1/100. Cheers Chris |
