Hey there collectors of Armour, do you know of any websites offering the best deals for Armour Collections? Please email me at kelvin8@singnet.com.sg

I'm sorry to say you are about 12 months too late to look for good prices. Now you must deal with inflated prices, the spectre of Franklin Mint and getting what is left out there.
Several good retailers in the US you can check out though.
Diecast Hobbies has been reliable and trust worthy

Can't say the same about all retailers. particularly when the ranklin Mint meltdown some pre-ordered models were suddenly unavailable and I was left scrambling all over to get what I wanted.
One retailer that came through BIG TIME and was excellent in service and communication, plus they get models that are unknown to US retailers was Wings and Wheels in the UK.
http://www.wingsandwheels.co.uk/
There I ws able to get the RAF B-25, a FAA Hellcat, and even a RAF P-47. They have all the expected 2002 releases in their site and now it is anybody's guess wha will actually be released and when!
Good luck!

Yeah i know. After i got my first F16 then i realised the Franklin takeover through this forum. I wonder when the price hike will start? So is it wise to purchase what you want at one shot now?

Get it if you want to but don't get it because you expect it to go up in price soon.
The price bump is built in to all prices now.
If the model is available the price will be competitive.
if the model is hard to get then the price goes up accordingly.

For example if you are looking for the Stuka torpedo bomber you'll get it easy at a good price. BUT, if you are looking for the Rudel Stuka "Tank Cracker" then let me know where you got it!

Speaking of priced and valuable pieces, B25 grumpy, that stuka tank cracker, Germany F104 and 262 Tank cracker are much after by collectors. Any other priceless pieces??

What make these few pieces so valuable? Limited quantity? Nice designs?

A couple more:

98146 "Gabreski" P-47 (Saw one sell for $285.00 on eBay.)

98170 "Jandina IV" P-38 (1500 pieces made for Wings Over Houston Airshow and the 80th Fighter Squadron Association.)

I have enquired several retailers and they said Armour is still safe and they will still be receiving stocks till 2003. After that, it is unsure.

U.S. distribution is now handled by Franklin Mint. Franklin Mint did not purchase CDC Armour, only the U.S. distribution rights. U.S. retailers may be obtaining CDC Armours from European sources, but they can no longer purchase directly from CDC Armour.

You sure about this? If that's true, it's jolly great news! I thought Franklin mint bought over CDC but will only do major shuffling after 2003. That's what i heard. No matter what, Franklin will still cause CDC prices to rise further.
