Thumbs up

I may buy this model, the camo pattern looks nice. I remember building an Airfix 1/72 AC130 years ago, these days those Airfix kits are considered basic and dated, but at the time it was quite the kit My favourite Corgi C130 in my collection so far is the USCG one, a very pretty scheme.

They've done a few nice RAF Herc's, but if you want a Corgi 1/144 model of an RAF aircraft I'd recommend either the Vulcan or Victor, both these models are beautiful models of incredible prototypes, well worth a place in any collection I can't wait to get the polished metal B52.....

I really love the AC130, but just like the others in this scale the blue windows stop me cold. The only one that grabbed me was the Vulcan, something about the grey green cammo that makes the blue windows OK.
Thanks for the pix Spectre!

its odd..the blue windows do not bother me on this aircraft...like they would on lets say..a gemini or a herpa..
I have a AC-130U 1/100 wooden model with dark dark grey windows..and it just looks wrong...
the insides of all the C-130s and AC-130s that I have been in is the ugly celest green unless the crew chief uses sprey paint to paint it black ( yes I did that when I was a crew dog on the AC-130H)..so from a distance..you almost see a greenish light blue glow comming from the flight deck........
but you are right... it looks so fake. they took the time to get the cammo on this old AC-130A just right.. ( I wish they had the nose art..and the name on her...55-0040 was orion the hunter...and instead of having one 20mm vulcan cannon in the nose are like the other "Spectre" nose art..this one had twin 40MM Boffors painted with the spectre)
this plane is now at AMARC spot # CF0018..she was delivered to AMARC in 1976 ( I know of one other AC-130A to go in 1976...three others were delivered to AMARC in 1995)
damn I thught I had a picture of the nose art of this plane with the 40MMs painted... sorry

Is Celeste Green similar to the shade known as Eau de Nile?? That Eau de Nile green is really popular in industry for things like control rooms as it is meant to have a calming effect, but to be honest most people just find it vomit inducing.

yeah...its not as bad as the green the russians use
and over the years...the greens almost look grey in the flightdeck...from being beat'n by the sun...

its to calm you yes....but I agree... its just ugly to me
