Just a quick message to say that Revell are apparently going to release a range of 1/72nd die-cast planes this year starting with a Panavia Tornado ( my least favourite plane!) it's going to feature moveable swing wings apparently ,though what sacrifices in terms of scale fidelity they have to make to accomodate this feature will be intriguing to see.So what can anyone else tell me about Revells plans?

ANOTHER 1/72 diecast source,WOW!!
![]() With Corgi's ever improving and expanding range, Dragon's imminent entry and now Revell these are happy times for us warbird collectors! Bring'em on! I just hope that as the companies proliferate we don't see the 1/72 and 1/48 community here descend into a repeat of the "my balls bigger than yours" style of brand loyalty type argument we see in 1/400 and 1/500 scales ![]() Justin |

I just picked up the new Italeri catalogue the other day and guess what, they're doing die-cast planes in 1/72nd too! The two they had pictures of where an F-18E Hornet and an AH-64 Apache. What with the traditional sharing of moulds for their kits with Revell a tie-up on die-cast too wouldn't surprise me at all.
Traditionally competition is a good thing for the quality of products people make, I just hope Revell and Italeri aren't too good! Rich. |

So if they use their plastic kit molds/drawings etc., could they do a 1/144 die cast A380?
I'll take a Black Braniff ! ![]()

Italeri may use Dragon Wings moulds too, I know they use some of Dragon models plastic kit moulds, and with Dragon entering 1/72 warbirds I guess they may co-operate in this area too.

Very interesting!
I think that I must now be VERY selective on what I get in 1/72, it loks like it will become a target rich environment shortly. E |

Not quite sure if these are all that new - Revell had a diecast "Air Aces" series about ten years ago. I have the Su-27 Flanker - a nice solid model.
