Smile Pacmin-1/100 Indian Airlines 767-300

Just added this piece to my collection. Missing original box and stand. I dont believe Indian Airlines ever had a 767-300. Perhaps a fantasy model or does anybody know if they planned to get a 767 some time in the past before getting the A300?
Nevertheless its a great model. Not sure how old it may be. The white paint isnt as bright as new but has no yellowing. Only issue is that there are two left tail planes. It seems Pacmin must have made the mistake when shipping this model to its original owner some time ago. Anybody have a 1/100 right Pacmin 767 tail plane and stand for sale? Pacmin is impossible to get a hold of for small jobs.

Thats a lovely model. As far as I know, they never did fly the 767, but went on to operate the A300. Good luck with trying to get sorted with Pacmin!

This was probably a model commissioned by Boeing when they tried to pitch the plane to IC as an A300 replacement.

I think I have an extra Pacmin stand? I need to go through several boxes to find it. If I find it,and it fits your model, you can have it no charge, just the shipping. A couple of stands on eBay for over $100. Not to bash the sellers, but I scratched my head at that?

Stratoliner, did you ever get the tailplane sorted?

Hi, after many many emails it did not get sorted out with pacmin. first i was told that it isnt a pacmin model. then i was told their tabs are different due to mold changes. Then finally after about 20 emails later this:

Unfortunately, we are unable to sell the majority of PacMin customized models to the public. We have strict licensing agreements with each airline and airframe company. However, we are occasionally granted permission to sell specific models to collectors. The models we are allowed to offer can be found on our Ebay store or in the “company stores” section of our website (Home | PacMin & PacMin Studio).

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Thank you and have a great day.

Kind Regards,

But since i just picked up a 767-200 recently online the tailplanes are an exact match. i will mold a tailplane out of it to fit.

Hey Kitty Hawk that is awfully nice of you! But i couldn't just take it for nothing. Yes i have seen the stands on ebay and they are rediculously overpriced. I bought a Pacmin 777 w stand for $100 w shipping included. The model had some paint chips but still it was worth it.

Hi,
I had posted this pic, of what appears to be the 767 at Bombay, circa 1983, perhaps making a pitch to IC.
I deleted it when I realized this thread was 2 & 1/2 years old. Anyway, here it is again for your pleasure.
Cheers.

Hi thanks so much for reposting pic. Its quite interesting that they have a TWA 767-200 there. This aircraft went to TWA in 1983 so im wondering if this photo is around or just before that time as the tail has not received final colors of TWA yet.

Also, in the pic, the A300's already have IA colors, so was this a pitch to replace the A300 or did Boeing loose against the A300 for sales?
I initially thought they might have actually painted a 767-300 in IA colors.

I think the 767 was pitched as a replacement for the A300. I agree that the tail number on that 767, with the tail in house colors, is strange. I have not come across another picture of it. The A300 itself was presented to AI & IC ten years prior to that, in 1973. I have a picture of that as well.
Regards

I am surprised we have never seen a hybrid TWA B767. That would be something the old Dragon Wings would likely have done.
