Default Skymarks vs. Lupa - 1:100 A380

Can anyone tell me the difference between Lupa and Skymarks models?

I want to buy a 1:100 scale A380 (Airbus livery) and am trying to decide between buying a Skymarks model from my local store, or buying a Lupa model from the Airbus Store. They both seem to have similar stands and quality of finish (no extra text or client logos on the Lupa version though).

Is the Lupa version a similar weight/quality to the Skymarks version?

Just want to make sure I'm getting the best version for the money I'm spending!

Any suggestions/recommendations/comments? HELP!

Have you also thought of buying an A380 1/100 PacMin from the airbus store?

Hi fab_trav,

Both the Lupa and Skymarks models are both made of resin. I personally have not had that many Lupa models in my personal possession but, can tell you that the Skymarks model's quality have improved over the past years.

I also would greatly support Ashley's suggestion, that you consider looking into a PacmMin Airbus 1/100 scale A380 model, for at or slightly above the same price:

Airbus A380 models - the official AIRBUS merchandise website

I'm sure that whatever model you decide on, that you won't be disappointed.

Hope that this info helps.

Regards, Robert

Hi D-AIHK and Robert,

Thanks for your comments and feedback. I did consider the PacMin version but it's a little more than what I wanted to spend (Lupa = AUD$460 vs. PacMin = AUD$630).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Lupa version seems to have more detailing in the engine fans than the PacMin? From looking at the photos anyway.

Given the pricing and from your comments, I'm sure I'd be happy with either a Skymarks or a Lupa.

Thanks again for your help. Very much appreciated!! Merry Christmas!!

As far as I know, the Skymarks 1:100 A380 is made by Lupa.
