Default Aw C'mon!

Well, just about when you think you've seen it all, along comes something like this.

MINT HAMILTON WATCH DISPLAY MODEL PLANE - EXTREMELY RARE AND HARD TO FIND!!!!! | eBay

Last year, I saw a Breitling version of this at a local swapmeet, priced at €40. It was wood, and made in the Philipines. Our local jewellery store, has a Breitling L159 jet trainer model hanging over a display of the appropriate watches in its window. I believe the type was/is flown by a Breitling display team. It looks to be around 1/50. Looking at that models underside, revealed the wood model trademark of two pinholes, for attaching a stand.

Does that Hamilton model warrant that price tag? ermmm........probably not. But then again, the guy doesn't mention the models composition, so who knows, it could be a precious metal under that gaudy paint scheme

As many E.Bay sellers do! They figure that somewhere out there is some gullible mug..and there usually is! Unfortunately free listing weekends mean it costs sellers nothing to list at whatever price they can dream up and costs them nothing when it doesn't sell! They obviously are not bothered about selling!

that isn't the intended price. read the listing; he's trying to gauge the value from offers.

"I usually don't do this but because of how rare this item is I am listing this at a outrageous price. Now I know I wont get $50,000 for it, though that would be awesome. I am doing this because I don't know what to ask for it as it is almost a priceless piece. I will take offers over the next few months for it. I will let you know if I decide to accept your offer."

Read it thanks, and understood same. I just highlighted the whole thing as a light hearted thread. How others interpret it, is up to them

Maybe everyone on the forum should place a low bid for under $5.00 just for kicks!
