1/72nd arkia dash 7 toy fair find
Here are a few pics of a toy fair find this month,
made by space models an arkia dash 7 which i think is 1/72nd scale could be 1/100th but its approx 14 inches long .
the only other dash 7 i ever saw or had was a thy turkish one in a large 50th scale which i think was an executive display models mould one piece and un-named so thats only my best guess ?
and no prizes for guessing where that model is now !
i am very tempted to keep this one as its a handy size to display on the high shelf away from my cats.
anyone who has a cat will understand this ,
lovely pets but bloody clumsy !
and my blue abyssinian just loves to climb ,sitting ontop of the bedroom door is his favorite high spot.

Re: 1/72nd arkia dash 7 toy fair find
That's quite a find. Although I don't do them anymore, I was always surprised when finding these display models at a toy fair. Having 3 cats of my own, as you know, I can sympathise. He's a very handsome fella

Re: 1/72nd arkia dash 7 toy fair find
Thats nice.
Which toyfair?
as at the NEC sunday I picked up a nice 1/72? britannia airways delivery colors boeing 737. This puts it as circa 1970?
Appears to be a one piece mould (maybe fiberglass) and decalled over paint - but some decals worn. will post a piccy when I get time.

Ihave to ask How good a find was it? It is a fantastic model and one of my all time favourite planes. I saw abunch of them idle in Bangor, ME years ago.

Lovely shots and a gorgeous cat,i've only got one tabby but he's enough,he's not so much clumsy as pigheaded,if he wants to lay somewhere he will and sod what's on the wall unit/shelf....

I think I'm right in saying that EDM/CAM, would only sell wooden models from Toys & Models Corp, and Pilots Station. Both of these company's products seem to be of good quality.

Re: 1/72nd arkia dash 7 toy fair find
It's a 'looker' Kev. It looks very much like a T&M one. I bought one for my younger brother some time ago, in the TWA 'twin globes' livery. The stand, and the writing on it, are identical. His model has a gold label under the base of the stand, with CAMs address on it. I'm hoping to get it back one Xmas

I have recently found a 1/250 707, in the colours of Maof. Back when I was a dispatcher, we used to handle this Israeli airlines 707s and 720s three times a week for about 9 months, shortly after that, they went bankrupt. A rare model maybe, I was given it by one of the cabin crew, back in '83.

Re: 1/72nd arkia dash 7 toy fair find
Kev, that Arkia Dash looks great ! And by my favorite manufacturer, Space !!!
as you say, its a keeper ! Ctas, yes, cats and models dont match ! My little Martina tries to come in my aviation room, but she knows she cant
And just the other day, another little fellow followed us home, Billy the Dog, as I named him.
So, two Beagles (gilrs) , one Billy the Dog, one little cat(gilr), all living in harmony...but not allowed to check on my models

Re: 1/72nd arkia dash 7 toy fair find
Yes ELAL models !
i must say i have had hundreds of models come and go over the ten years or more i have been dealing in large scale model sales but i carnt ever remember having any ELAL models,
i have had other Arkia models i think it was a 737-200 by skyland or it may of been exec displays and the only other israeli models i have is 2 small bizjets by Pacmin one is a IAI GALAXY & the other is an IAI Astrajet both of the charter company Lions air ,
nice models but again not EL-AL ,
good luck with your search maybe one day i will be able to help.
