Default Montreal Canadiens

Hey guys

Sorry for the off-topic but I just wanted to share this youtube video with you guys.

Somebody made a little video montage from a song that's been playing on the radio in Montreal for about 2 weeks now.

The song is titled "25 feels like 93".
1993 is the last time that the Canadiens won the Stanley Cup and it was their 24th. If they win it this year it would be number 25. This year is special because the Canadiens have not been this good since their last Cup and many Montrealers feel that the Stanley Cup can come back to Montreal this year. Hence the title "25 feels like 93"

Enjoy the video (PS. The video shows their 1993 Cup victory)

Go Philly!!! Price is losing his nerve, too young, etc.... He is no Roy. The Habs will be gone in 6.

Are you from Philadelphia?

Yeah... Price had two bad games...
Montreal could be winning the series 3-0. Instead it's 2-1 Philly. I think he can bounce back though. And if Montreal keeps playing they way they are they can win next game and come back to Montreal with the series tied 2-2.

As much as I love my hometown Canadiens, I must say that the Pittsburgh Penguins are outstanding. Sidney Crosby and company really changed the fate of the Pens.

If Montreal loses this one, i'm going for Detroit since they are my second favorite team. Roy has enough to deal with now after the Remparts fight in the QMJHL. I know it is old news but I wonder how his son will deal with the big leagues when he gets there. Roy was good when the Habs won their last one. Nice video and song!

Look, I hate the Habs....but that song sucked soooo bad, I actually feel sorry for them. And what a disservice to Steve Perry and Journey. Maybe it's not the Habs I hate so much, I think it's just their fans.

Looks like Philly in 5 now! Sould we expect more rioting?

I got that song stuck in my head when I first heard it. It was a great try to them. Now I'm going for Detroit to go all the way!
Good luck next year and Hope you all can make the All Star Game there memorable next year!

2- There is nothing wrong with that song, you need to be a Montrealer and a real hockey fan to appreciate it
3- You can't judge Montreal fans based on the actions of the bums who find any excuse to riot in the streets
4- Brière and Biron are the two best players for the Flyers (I think they are both from the province of Quebec, check up on that and let me know)
5- Pittsburgh in 4
6- Montreal has a very bright future ahead of them and they are the greatest team in NHL history
7- You're a prick

Let's go Penguins

1-I am that good. It's ok, you don't have to like it....just respect it
2-there is everything in the world wrong with that song. And on top of it, it was ripped off of a band from Detroit. Real hockey fan? I've been playing Ice since before you were born little man. You couldn't carry my jock-strap
3-Yes I can.....and did.
4-Umberger, Carter, and Richards are equally as good. And none are from Quebec.
5-Pittsburgh in 6
6-Montreal has had a bright future ahead of them every year since 1993. . I'm sure next year will be "the year"
7-I know. Take the time to go back and read some more posts over the last 5 1/2 years and you will disover that I am an even bigger one than you think!

I created this thread because I wanted to show everyone my passion for hockey and for the Canadiens. I don't diss or hate any other fans or teams and that's what makes me a true fan and not you. There is no reason to hate other fans or teams unless you are jealous of them. Look at CcrlR737pilot, his team is obviously the Ottawa Senators and you don't see him talking trash.

So stop acting like a tough guy and that big jock strap of yours... shove it down your throat

And I chimed in because I wanted to show my passion for a complete dislike of the Habs, their fans, and everything related. Trash-talking is a part of every sport. Some do it, some don't. I was lucky enough to see two games at the Forum in 1995 while attending a goaltending camp just outside of Montreal. The building, the history of the franchise, everything was amazing. But in 1993, they defeated my beloved Kings, and since then, have hated them. It's simple. What don't you get?

You're right though, I guess I'm not a true fan of the game like you. Just a poser I guess. Something tells me you have never been more than a super-fan though. Did you ever play the game? Or were you always just a "True fan"?

Nice edit super-fan! The original post didn't pack enough punch so you had to go back in and add the "tough guy" remark. See, I got you talking trash!

Oh, and your DAC handle would lead one to believe you are a Montreal based pilot. Are you? Or just a true fan?

..... I'm in even worse straits... my heart rests with the probably never win another cup at the rate they're going Toronto Maple Leafs. Why? In the early 70's I played in their organization and even in two games for the Leafs. Can't even prove it since I played in the before the players' union and wasn't signed to a contract so it was as if I didn't exist. I was on the payroll, but not with a contract. Sure do miss those days.
Dave (played hockey from a tot... school, amateur, semi-pro, pro, college, etc. Now permanently "retired" at wife's insistence)

At least you can say you made it all the way. I was offered to play at a couple low level colleges in Utah. Had to decide between that and a flying career. Chose the latter. I often wonder where it would have taken me had I persued it. Probably no higher than Semi-semi-pro at best. I'm just feeling lucky that I can strap on the pads a few nights a week in "Beer League" with a great group of guys.
