Default News Of The Day For April 10th

I think I will start regular postings sharing the weirdest, craziest, most insane stuff I read on a daily basis. So, our first installment is below. Beware, it is DISGUSTING but very true.

Hundreds of rats, four starving snakes found in Rochester home
By The Associated Press

ROCHESTER, Thurston County — Authorities say a woman has been found living with hundreds of rats and four malnourished snakes in a home outside Rochester.

Thurston County Animal Services Director Susanne Beauregard says an official from the Area Agency on Aging alerted authorities about the situation a month ago, but the woman has been uncooperative. She says the woman calls the rats her friends.

On Wednesday a search warrant was obtained and officers found the floor covered with rat droppings and the carpets soggy with rat urine. Beauregard says two malnourished boa constrictors, a corn snake and a king snake were seized from cages.

Investigators believe the woman bought some rats to feed the boa constrictors, but they got loose and filled the house with their offspring.

It could have been far worse.......

they could have found the woman and the rats inside the very "nourished" boa constrictors....had they been the ones to escape their cages!

Interesting enough.... if the woman had trouble with the ranaway rats making a party at her place, she should of let the boa free in the house... that would of taken care of the rodents.

I know for a fact (seen it personally), that people in the Amazon Jungle, keep boas living in their kitchens as pest control.... Boas are very tame contrary to what most believe, and by the time they grow big enough to eat large game (like a family dog for instance) it has been a couple years at least, by then it is almost a family member , incredibly they are not agressive if well fed.

Snakes totally creep me out. I am cool with spiders, unlike most people.

I would also have favored letting the snakes roam free, but the only real solution would have been to poison the rats and burn the house down.

It's off topic Moin....anything goes my friend!

I could discuss the Titanic with anybody...definitely one of my favorite pieces of history to read about and discuss. Feel free to start it on the 'off topic' forum cuz I dont want my rat/snake thread to be 'hijacked'

i watched a programme a few days about the conspiracie involving titanic and sister ship olympic, what made the theory convincing was a navy boat had hit the olympic sometime earlier , the titanic was also found with the same damage in the same place after hitting the iceberg, could have been a weak point on both ships, they had a radio phone-in in ireland about the ship and somebody called in saying his grand dad swore just before he died that the two ships were swapped because starlines (whatever) was near bankrupt

Default Update !!!!

Woman to leave house full of rats

ROCHESTER, Thurston County — A 64-year-old Rochester woman has agreed to get rid of her rats and move out of her infested home, provided officials from the Area Agency on Aging and Thurston County Animal Control find her somewhere new to live.

On Wednesday, Animal Control officials said the woman has an infestation of hundreds of rats that roam free in her Sargent Road home. The problem spread after several rats that she kept to feed her snakes escaped and reproduced.

On Thursday, Michele Diller said she plans to move out of the house and demolish it. Diller said she is setting traps around the house and that an exterminator has taken care of many of the rats.

"I still like the critters," Diller said. "I'm sorry, but they have a way of overpopulating when they aren't caged properly."

Diller said the remaining rats are in a utility room.

"They go where they want," she said.

She said the rats never bit or harmed her, but they chewed up the electrical wiring, leaving her without telephone service or heat.

Animal Control officials seized Diller's four malnourished snakes and her cat Tuesday after finding the conditions they lived in, Animal Services Director Susanne Beauregard said.

Diller said she hopes to get her cat back; Beauregard said the cat will be returned to Diller once she finds a new place to live.

I hate rats, nothing but vermin... They would have to put me in a straightjacket if I lived there.

The Olympic and Titanic were swapped? You mean it was the Olympic that hit the iceberg and sank and vice versa with the Titanic? I was wondering when the conspiracy theories about the Titanic would start.

That is one crazy lady that we have there. I don't mind any animals, but to have such an infestation is absolutely subhuman. How could one possibly live in such appaling conditions and keep up basic hygenic needs?

No, I'll tell you what is sub human, a woman on the news the other day who locked her dog in a room and starved it to death just because, wait for it .....

'She was asthmatic and couldn't walk it' :e vil:

That is just beyond comprehension to me, I mean, ....... HOW ......!!

She wasn't exactly starved of food herself, let me tell you!!

Thing is, she didn't even care, she was laughing and joking about it and was telling the press (on national television) to go f*** themselves.

I'm quite a laid back kind of guy, but if I ever met that fat B****, I don't quite know what I'd do!

When she's sentenced this week, I bet, knowing the state of the law in this country, that she'll just be slapped on the wrists and told not to do it again.

Pathetic, utterly pathetic!!
