My heart goes out to the passengers and crew of the mishap aircraft. I have many hours in the Citation 1 and it's a very reliable and forgiving aircraft. I'll be following this story and will be waiting for the accident investigation reports. It sounds like a catastrophic engine malfunction from early reports, but as to the cause, I will wait and see. My heart also goes out to the families of the passengers and crew.

Sounds like it stalled out. Does anyone know what year this particular LearJet came out?

Wasn't a Lear, it was a little straight-wing Slow-tation (Citation) 501. Are you one of those guys that calls every small private jet a "LearJet"?
