Two boys are playing hockey on a pond in a park in Toronto, when one is attacked by a rabid Rottweiler. Thinking quickly, the other boy takes his stick, wedges it down the dogs collar and twists,breaking the dogs neck. A reporter who was strolling by sees the incident,and rushes over to interview the boy. "Young Leafs Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal," he starts writing in his notebook. "But I’m not a Leafs fan," the little hero replied. "Sorry, since we are in Toronto, I just assumed you were." said the reporter and starts again. "Little Jays Fan Rescues Friend From Horrific Attack" he continued writing in his notebook. "I’m not a Jays fan either," the boy said. "I assumed everyone in Toronto was either for the Leafs or Jays fan."What team do you root for?" the reporter asked. "im a Ottawa Senators fan." the child said. The reporter starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes, "Little Bastard from Ottawa Kills Beloved Family Pet.

Thanks Moomins, now Jo-Anne is on a rampage now. You don't have to live with her when she gets that, I do. I never thought I would see her worse than PMS week but man you did it.

I couldn't find a good picture of Lanny (wearing a Leafs uniform) that showed off his awesome mustache! The Flames photo below does a good job of it though!

Must be something in the water out there in Hanna, Alberta ... apparently Lanny was born there plus it's where Canadian band "Nickelback" is from!

BTW - I live about 2 hours from Hanna and get out that way a fair bit with some contract work that I do for CMHC. If you don't play hockey, farm, or work in the oil field, your only option would be to start a rock band.

..... Lanny sure had a moustache. The first time I showed up for the practice squad he said "nice stash". My hair back then was reddish light brown. I only saw his waxed off ice. It appears he has it waxed every time he appears now. He taught me a lot of things and actually got to play with him in two games for Toronto. That was back before the players union so if you weren't on the roster, it didn't really count. I played two games: Kansas City Scouts and Oakland Golden Seals (there's two teams for trivia fans). Lanny was in both games. The man could talk and talk about anything. Good listener too. Couldn't help but like the guy. I remember Dave Keon, but he wasn't very friendly and was always unhappy. I was still there when Tiger Williams joined the team. Didn't like him at all.
