I know alot you complain about the postal rates from Canada. Well get ready postal rates are going up again. Operating a small business it is already hard to compete with the CAD being as strong as it is. But now another batch of increases starting next Monday January 14. And what makes it harder now for International shipping there is just a price range.
So here are the old rates and the new rates: Shipping small packet to the USA Airmail: up to 250g was $6.20 going to $6.45 250-500g was $8.20 going to $8.55 500-1kg was $12.75 going to $13.25 As for international they used to break down by the various weight rates and it was a standard for all countries ie (a parcel weighing 600g would be the same price being sent to England or Australia.) Now it says for International Small Packet $7.75 to $48.80 depending on weight and destination country . So now won't know the rate until you ship. So it sounds like the same weight parcel could have 3 different prices going to 3 different countries. How are small business expected to survive when you can't quote a price until you know destination and weight. Canada Post is the hang man of small business. Mark |
