Onmark International
Issue, followed a link from The Model Hangar for free shipping on 1st order. Of course the 1st issue, not clear was amount needed for free shipping. I had like $70.00 worth and it was not enough, $100.00 was the minimum, so I added more models just to avoid the shipping cost, rather get a model than pay $12.00 for shipping. It did not say this before you start ordering and on the link on the forum, just free shipping for new customer 1st order. Issue 2 : I get an email they dont have all the models in stock so I need to pay shipping or add more models. The order was now only 80.00 due to some models being sold out, so I ask them to honor it since it was not my fault they did not have everything and the ad was not clear anyway on the 1st time buyer free shipping, they do not honor this and I had to add more, ended up being $100.00, got the free shipping. Lets be clear this was the main reason I tried them out and some ok deals on some older FM 1/100. Issue 3: The order shows up, most boxes look like they have been handled rough before being packed, One is broken badly, but the outer box is perfect and it is see through so they musta known when they packed it. Two more models are broken as well , one a prop which they must have also noticed in its clear packing and one a gear issue, may have come off during shipping on the 3rd damaged item. I write them, ask for a refund for the completely broken model and only a $5.00 refund for the two others, I offer photo proof and an easy way to solve the issue. I am only looking for a $16.00 total refund to make things kinda ok in my mind. They write me back and say I need to ship the three models back and then they will issue a refund, but I must pay the shipping, I cant even believe it, The whole reason I ordered was the BS offer for new customer free shipping, they knew or should have known from the condition of these boxes that there could and were issues with some of these, unless they packed them with there eyes closed, you could not miss the Alpha Jet with a complete broken off wing and nose, in its clear box??? I am going to go to my credit card company and dispute the whole sale. I have never done this before in my life, But I can not take crappy vendors like this doing whatever they want to the customer and having an attitude the whole time. Not in any of there emails to me did they ever take the blame or offer to help in any reasonable way. I will never buy from them ever again and I will tell anyone who will listen my story of dealing with OMI. I have dealt with many great dealers like The Flying Mule and MilitaryAirPower.com and never ever had any issues, that they did not bend over backwards to take care of, My collection must be in the $3000.00 or more spent range. But mark my word OMI will never get another penny from me. Too make things even worse, the Model Hangar Forum which I used to love, banned me for trying to tell the other collectors on there about this lousy treatment of a customer by Onmark, they must get a juicy kickback on sales or something? I think it's pretty standard that if you don't hit the x dollar amount for free shipping no matter what the retailer the majority of them won't honor it if certain items are not in stock or sold out. In addition, its common that if you didn't purchase insurance which I imagine you didn't that you send the models back to the retailer who will refund your money, in which the retailer returns it to the manufacturer or what not, so with all due respect are you sure you're not complaining for the sake of complaining because if you have 3000+ dollars in your collection is 10 dollars or what not really something to complain about publicly? If you don't like it then you take your business elsewhere in the future.

Well I Think It's GREAT Dealers Offer Free Shipping Over 100 Bucks!
It's Not The Retailers Fault They're SOLD Out. Afterall It's What They Are In Business For. Retailer Didn't Get The 100 Bucks, So I Can't Blame The Retailer For Not Giving Free Shipping. They E-Mailed You Back Informing You That They Were Sold Out & It Wasn't Enough For Free Shipping. Great Service If You Ask Me. Some Retailers Don't Even Tell You & Off The Package Goes Anyway. Reason 1 & 2 Can Be Discarded. Reason 3: Grey Area, But I Think It's Pretty Much The Buyers Risk If They Don't Buy Insurance. Some Retailers Will Offer Replacements Or Refunds, But I Think It's Not The Retailer's Responsibility, But The Shipper's. Case Closed. |

Its hard for me to understand that all you picked up on was there side, how about the fact they must have known based on the looks of all of these boxes that these were the last models of these in stock and looked a little rough to say the least. They should have looked them over better, they would have seen the damaged models and if they are honest they would not have shipped them at all. I could have put up with the shipping BS , I would have lived with the adding extra models, had they not shipped damaged goods, and not damaged in shipping in any way, damaged before shipment. The boxes look like they were stored directly on a dirty warehouse floor.
As for the money thing, Its just a matter of principle to me, I paid enough and added enough models I did not want, to get the free shipping. They cant replace the models they shipped me what they should have known were defective. So they should offer some sort of reasonable refund, and if they want them back they should cover the shipping. You are correct though , I will never shop with this vendor again and I will tell anyone who will listen not too. I only wanted them to acknowledge that they should not have shipped these this way and to offer some sort of partail minimal refund. As I said do not like being taken even for a few dollars by some non caring, vendor. Flaps |

If They Knowingly Shipped Damaged Models, You Do Have A Point, But How Do Tou Know That?
Aviation World & Threshold Aviation, Two Large Retailers Whom I Have A Close Relationship With Reprt Damaged Models In Undamaged Shipping Boxes All The Time. Hence 19 Models Can Be Perfect, One Could Have Broken Tail Fin (I've Seen That Right Out Of The Box, Just After They Opened It!) And 4 Could Have Broken Gear, But No Singn Of External Damage Or Crushing Anywhere. As For Box Wear You Could Be Right There, But Sometimes I Buy The Last One On The Shelf Too, Sometimes Totally Crushed Boxes. You Have To Prove They Deliberately Shipped Broken Models. Not Taking Sides, As I Don't Know The Company You Deal With. If They Do Shipped Damaged Models Regularly, They Do So At Their Own Peril I've Already Banned 2 Online Retailers For Shipping Reasons. And That's The Name Of The Game, Find The Retailer You Like & Stick With Them. There Prolly Will Be A Few Bumps On The Way. Drive Carefully. |

Certain retailers move enough volume where they aren't able to "check" to see if models are damaged before hand, and simply because there is no visable damage to the shipping box doesn't mean that a model could not have gotten damaged in shipping. If you didn't like that you didn't get free shipping before the models were shipped, then you should have cancelled the order right there.
They offered a refund, you declined by refusing to ship the models back. My suggestion is that you're beating a dead bush and you can see why TheModelHangar banned you, especially since they are affliated with said retailer. If you aren't happy with the models eat the money to ship them back and go on your merry way. There isn't need to loose sleep over this and continue going on and on without a valid reason.

The reason they should have known, is these come in boxes with clear fronts and tops, as soon as I opened the outer shipping box, I could see the one jet sitting there with its wing broken off and the nose broken, it comes in a hard plastic clear case, so it had to be handled and broken by someone?
The others were less easy to see, but all looked very very rough as far as condition overall of mfg boxing. You would think they would take a quick look as they put them in the shipping box and if they see issues , DONT SHIP IT and just assume the customer is going to be ok with it. Flaps Quote:
