Nicely said! I like that feeling of being without worries. I've experienced it for the first time when I was standing on the edge of the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. Nothing but empty sky around you.
...And too many tourists...

And believe me, it's even better when flying a glider.

Is your avatar a picture of you? I like the "zooming" with the model planes.

So I just started to "collect" models in 1:400 scale which somehow brought me to this forum. Anyway...I'm just finishing my study, which means that my financial position is more or less poor and for starter I bought only these 3 models:
A380-800 Air France (Gemini)
B787 ANA (Phoenix-models)
A320 Air New Zealand "Arwen&Eowyn" (Herpa) in 1:500 scale because there was no 1:400 scale available anymore.
I hope there will be more of them as soon as possible. =)
Kind regards from Slovenia!

Lenka, if that is really you in the avatar photo then we have a lot in common. I love model planes and eastern European women. Let's get together and share our love of planes

That's a great picture, and it captures a little personality in it. Ah, if I were single and 25 again....

Personality? Really?
Let's say that also 33 would be agreeable.

I took this photo myself (a lot of jumping was involved) and made some minor corrections in ACDPhoto Editor.
I did dance flamenco and irish dances but had to cancel both because there isn't enough time/money to do all my hobbies. Unfortunately.
(I don't know what kind Toopie likes but probably I rather don't know.)

Technically, you would be a Balkan woman, that's true. Besides English (which you seem to even understand our slang, which is great), and of course, Slovenian, do you speak any other language, like French or Croat or German? I used to speak much better German than I do now (I was stationed in Germany for several years), and also know a smattering of Russian.

I learned German for 8 years. But I don't use it every day (like English) so it takes some time for me to get used to it again. I would really like to speak Italian (because there are many arias in Italian) but for now I only understand a few words without being able to say anything... And I took a short course of Japanese...

..... What a lovely girl you are! In all my travels the closest I ever got to Slovenia was Corfu, Greece which isn't at all close.
..... So busy too. Sings, dances, poses for photos, takes the photo... what else. Plays a musical instrument? One woman musical show?
..... Now, like Steve, if I was younger... Unlike Tupi, I always had a preference for the East Asian (Orient) girls and even married one (if you don't quibble that Indonesia is more Southeast Asia, but she is ethnic Chinese which is).
..... And I do not look anything like my avatar (it is my name in Chinese though).

..... I used to speak Chinese (Kwantung dialect) when I lived in Hong Kong. I got pretty fluent in Italian when I was in Sicily (they loved Americans who learned & spoke Italian).
..... There are many operas in German (Wagner for instance) and in French. There are operas in many other languages as well. I attended an opera while in Norfolk, Virginia and it didn't seem right at all in English. Several months later I enjoyed "Turandot" in glorious Italiano. Bella!

Usually I don't want to be near to anyone who wants to take a picture of me. And yes...since I study music... I do play an instrument...a piano (now you'll really think I'm pulling your leg) or at least I did play a piano. Nowadays that's quite a rare occasion.
Thanks, I wanted to ask you about your avatar many times already.

You probably don't want to hear this, Lenka, but you remind me an awful lot of my oldest daughter (she's 21). She used to have beautiful long hair like you (she cut it all off, now it's shoulder length), likes to pose and dance, and wants to learn Japanese. She studied katana, and has a few swords that I've bought her (I collect swords and knives, and she got into it too). She's an artist with a great talent, but not very focused yet. You also resemble her a bit. I hope you continue posting and comment around this forum, some of what you say is refreshing, not like hearing these old farts with the same comments all the time.

Actually it's nice to hear this. You have a very interesting daughter! But there are 2 differences: usually I don't like to pose and I don't have katanas but an European mediaeval sword.
...I'll definitely stay here at least for a while.
