Default acela or aircraft

hey guys have you guys taken an acela express? If you have what do you think is better, Acela express or any aircraft? i think acela because its a lot more spacious and confterable. Plus it has a snack car. but the flight has to be on the nec (northeast corridor) unless you take the acela for a longhal

High speed rail, with new equipment, running from city center to city center, on dedicated tracks makes perfect sense in short range, congested areas like the northeast corridor, LAX-SAN, CHI_MKE, MIA-JAX, to name a few. Unfortunately it would be impossible from IAH-NYC becuase of the impossibility of financing new right of ways. The current US rail system is saturated by heavy freight traffic. If you think US airlines are running late, try riding Amtrack long distance, where the freight roads control the rail the passenger trains travel on.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE trains! I have travelled by rail across Canada and many trips around the US before and after Amtrack. I sure wish there was a viable alternative, but I am afraid it will exist only in our dreams except in the already noted corridor situations.

Well, the Amtrak Acelas and HHP8s (a two headed version of it) run on a route known as the Northeast Corridor. These are the only rails I recall that are owned and maintained by Amtrak. I know someone who once worked as a breakman on one of the Freght railroads and he recalled that the Freght trains were restricted to running at certain times on those tracks. This was way before the NEC had Acelas, maybe in the late 1960s-late 70s (Havn't asked him when he did the job.) But I would assume that Amtrak still limits when the freght trains run.

Hey guys just a question, but does an acela express have a diffrent route than an regional service, because i recal on my ride, we split up from the main route, and from there on out, i only saw acelas passing us, until boston of course. Oh ya and Amtrak lets other passenger carriers, i'm pretty sure.

they probably just don't want them clogging up the rails, because amtraks acelas and reginal service, run pretty fast, acela somtimes at 150 mph, and most of the time for both is 80 mph, oh ya and if you rode on one did the engineer somtimes cut the power to the engine, because mine did.

People from other non-English Speaking countries can write and spell a lot better than this. Next time try spell check or use a dictionary.

I think Conti is letting his thoughts race out faster than he can type, trying to say everything at all at once.
