The asthma thing can be traced to several sources, IMHO...the strongest case would be against central air conditioning. I didn't grow up with a/c, as I suspect is the case with many of you. Since I work on the damn things, I can tell you that mold is very prevelant in almost every single one of these systems. The one thing that seems to help most is the UV light biosystem that has been coming out on the market. Hospitals have used them for years, and they really are effective in killing mold spores. But with more and more homes being built with central a/c, you have more and more cases of respiratory problems. I also blame antibiotics abuse, weakening children's immune systems. And pollution in cities that have geographical features that trap smog, like in LA or Denver, they have gotten a lot worse in 20-30 years. I do love it when I read about cities putting bans on cigarettes...like car exhaust is better for you? My wife has the right opinion on THAT subject (she's a smoker)...Why are they *****-footing around with trying to get people to quit cigarettes? If they don't want people to smoke, then ban tobacco, make it a controlled substance, instead of nibbling away at smoker's rights like tiny piranhas. Blame tobacco for Global Warming!
