If you want to know, ther are a few Aircraft Carriers in 1:500 that could be useful for 1:500 diorama's.

thats a 1:1250 scale ship dude at about 9inches long. so no =P. maybe if it sat in the background to give a depth of field perspective but otherwise no.
and yes there are plenty of model kits out there of 1:350 waterline ships or 1:500 which are closer to scale. Last edited by B-16707; 05-19-2007 at 05:28 AM. |

There is not the diversity in diecast ship models that there is in aircraft ones.
If you are interested in naval ships, the following link is to a series in 1:700 that are quite nice for a relatively low price. Diecast famous US Navy warships |

There is a company in Japan that recently created 1:450 scale powered trains. The scale is called "T-Scale". They are also planning to come out with a set for airports (monorail!) I posted some stuff about it on Wings900 earlier.

My most recent train purchase:
![]() The picture is not mine, but courtesy of Sachsenstolz. Great page - this guy knows his stuff. Just one question for "Alex, hi": don´t they have nice books filled with all sorts of naval and railroad pictures to browse and look at in Aussieland? That are suitable for 12-yer-old children? Just wondering... ![]() Side note: it´s awesome.

Nah over here model trains arent verry rare at all.
To anwser that guy we dont have many railroad books. Aviation models and books are very rare. Military models are not rare at all.

I think L1011 Heavy would have a field day with the colors on the Evergreen example. As you can see from the pictures below, the container color is way off!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

I watch steam videos all the time. Can never get enough of those moving parts. Totally cool.
![]() I'd like to visit Germany this year. The 1/8th scale trains at this park remind me of the salt mine train rides we rode in the 1960s.

No problem:
![]() HO scale, etched brass. Just... don´t ask for prices. ![]() These military buggers are a bit more affordable (all 1/87th = HO scale): ![]() (Little Willy, 1915) ![]() (Burstyn Landtorpedoboat, 1905) ![]() (Medieval German nobleman with piked guards, around 1480)

That thread is going to be interesting. My 8 month old daughter is driving me crazy and I decided to take advantage out of it. I extended my aircraft collection to old tintoy tanks, like the below one. GAMA pre-war, Panzerkampfwagen I, 4 cm figure scale (1/32). I have the big one as well (7 cm figure scale, 1/24)

Ahh, ships...! I forgot to tell you about the 1/200 Aeronaut Prinz Eugen, which I restored some times ago. This model is from the 50's. At least it has an Arado AR-196 on board. Nice stand for the plane, isn't it?
