For those who believed that Republicans will be in the control for next 25 years after Georgie Bush won back in 2000.
Proud to accknowledged that Democrats retake the control of the House of Representative! Senator races seem more hotter ever. So it is going to look like 49-2-49. "The Balance of Power" This ultimately have sent a crystal clear to the Republicans in many ways. I truly hope that our belove brothers, Jim McDonald and Todd Johnson, are doing allright. It's a sexual technique practised in Tennessee and parts of western North Carolina whereby the man, who is on the bottom... uh, never mind. This is a family forum nowadays.

This is pretty funny, no comments from Todd or Jimbo on the loss, but if they had won they would have been crowing at the first opportunity.
Welcome to two years of having an even more lame duck president than he already was! "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Who cares who's in control of Congress? They'll just mess things up until the next election. Or am I just being cynical?

Quit showing your ignorance of worldwide events. Just keep believing that all countries are self-sufficient and there is no trade between any of them.

This quote from Lou Dobbs on CNN sums up the results of the mid-term election:
"While the Democratic Party was the clear winner, I don't believe for even a moment that the Democrats' ideals prevailed over Republican ideals. Election Day was middle-class America's declaration of independence from a Republican-led administration and Congress that for six years has been telling working men and women and their families in this country to shut up, listen up and go to hell."

They haven't become the fiscally responsible party ... they haven't been in power for 12 years ... they are the party of fiscally responsible rhetoric .. time will tell if they are truly fiscally responsible ... BTW there are two ways to balance a budget ... democrats always think of raising taxes ... I believe in smaller government ... so we should cut expenditures .... not raise taxes .. this is concept that is foreign to most democrats. BTW ... for all you democrats that think this means anything ... I have two concepts for you: 1. Veto 2. simple majority. Now if the Blue Dog Democrats have any balls to stand up to the kooks on the left, which they don't then there might actually be some bipartisan action. But the blue dogs will chair nothing and so they will get no bills to the floor ... so in reality what is going to happen is that gridlock will occur and the status quo will continue ... the rematch will come in 2008. |

Likewise, Bush's tax cuts occurred under similar circumstances as the U.S. economy was slammed by the so-called "dot.com" bust followed by the 9/11 attacks. The fact that the economy began experiencing a meaningful recovery within 6 months of the attacks is a testament to the power of counter-cyclical fiscal policy. Fluctuations in the Debt/National Income ratio are normal. |
