You should use your own criteria on where you want your collection to go. Collecting planes that you have flown is the wisest way to go and I would keep the numbers low.
Few tips
  • Now, don't go booking flights just because you want a model that was just released. That would be cheating.
  • Be aware of a guy that goes by the name Pee Wee, he would tell you that a good collection is to get everything he's got in his inventory. He would lure you by giving you great prices and the chance to get some limited model or a sold out/hard to find model.
  • Have fun and don't stress

I would like to point out a tradition among collectors in this forum. You must sent a free model to every senior member of this site. In the future other new members will send you a model as well.

Regards!!!!

My, but your English has improved, nutsX! By the way, I don't think that's going to go over well...I don't give away ANY of my planes to just anyone. Jungho, collect what catches your eye, just remember that room for your collection is a main consideration. 1/400 to 1/500 is an excellent scale to collect, since the smaller planes still look great and take up less room. I collect 1/400, and have just about maxed out my collection at 176 planes, since any more and I'll have to keep them in boxes...ran out of room.

Just remember the two golden rules of collecting:
1) Get any plane that you like.
2) Just have fun.
If you follow these rules, you should have a collection that you are pretty happy to own.
