Default I Declare War - A Unique Street Game

This is a game that my brothers and I brought back to the states from the sandy playgrounds in Frankfurt, Germany during the 1960s. Click the thumbnail as you read the rules.

1) Four players. Each player names his own country.
2) Use big piece of rock or chalk to draw very large circle in street or court. Divide circle into four quarters.
3) Find good throwing stick.
4) USA player declares war on Germany by throwing stick into Germany's territory. As the three players run out of the circle, the German player rushes to pick up stick and yells HALT. German player decides to throw stick at China player since he is nearest to him.
5) Stick is thrown at China player with underhand throw and below neck. If German player hits China player, German player takes the chalk and gets down on his knees. He proceeds to draw as much land from China as possible without letting stomach touch the ground. If he misses the China player, China player takes as much territory from Germany as possible. See territory already taken as an example. Regardless as to whether the German player wins or loses on that turn, he will declare war with stick on next turn.
6) Ultimately, one player will end up dominating the world and win the game.

It was highly competitive and a lot of fun.
