Default Question for Ebay experts

I have a question. I'm looking at spending hundreds (thousands?) on an ebay auction. Problem is, the seller will not accept Pay Pal. I am not comfortable at all not paying by pay pal, becuase I don't want to lose my buyer protection coverage if the item is garbage. He has a good track record, but only as a buyer.

Upon inquiring if he would accept Pay Pal, he told me he would but payment would go to a friend, who he is actually selling the model for. As far as I can see, if I send payment to a non-sellers email address, I will lose Pay Pal protection.

Does anyone know whether this is correct? Also, what is the maximum Pya Pal ebay coverage?. Any thoughts from some experienced ebay people.?Thanks.

Neither solution sounds good in my opinion. Selling the model for someone else and sending the money to that someone else could spell trouble. Maybe you should not bid and wait for something else. I am not sure what the "maximum" protection is but I am sure it is on the paypal web site.

I agree 100%. Be careful! I am not an e-bay expert but I´ve heard that the PAY-PAL "insurance" is not so good as it should be.

I suggest you to not bid on this auction.

I holp I have helped you.
