Thumbs down Liberal Absurdity #3

The shameful divisive rhetoric begins after only three days. In the midst of a NATURAL disaster in New Orleans, the Liberals and media have wasted no time blaming Bush for the lack of coordination of relief.

In addition, as I predicted, the Liberal Loonies are now playing the RACE card. I guess Bush is now a racist who didn't do enough because most of the affected are Blacks.

Even during a disaster where everyone should come together to help, the looney Liberals and media pile on the divisive rhetoric.

One can't wait till they make the connection of Bush's policies to Global Warming which was why the Hurricane occurred in the first place.

Carry on looney tunes! One can only shake their head while they watch how low Liberals can go.

WHY WERE FEMA'S PREPAREDNESS MISSIONS DISMANTLED?: "The advent of the Bush administration in January 2001 signaled the beginning of the end for FEMA," one expert writes. In particular, the White House targeted the agency's "mitigation" programs -- "the measures taken in advance to minimize the damage caused by natural disasters" -- which emergency specialists consider "a crucial part of the strategy to save lives and cut recovery costs." Shortly after coming into office, "key federal disaster mitigation programs, developed over many years, [were] slashed and tossed aside." FEMA's Project Impact, "a model mitigation program created by the Clinton administration," was canceled outright by the Bush administration on February 28, 2001 -- ironically, the very same day of the 6.8 magnitude Nisqually earthquake in Washington state, which provided one of the "best examples of the impact the program had" in protecting people. Indeed, FEMA employees were officially "directed not to become involved in disaster preparedness functions, since a new directorate (yet to be established) will have that mission."

WHY WERE INEXPERIENCED POLITICAL APPOINTEES PICKED TO HEAD FEMA?: Since taking office, President Bush "has appointed, in succession, his 2000 campaign manager and an Oklahoma lawyer whose only emergency management experience prior to joining FEMA was as an assistant city manager." According to one emergency expert, these officials "showed little interest in its work or in the missions pursued by the departed [former FEMA chief James Lee Witt]," who led emergency management in Arkansas and "reoriented FEMA from civil defense preparations to a focus on natural disaster preparedness and disaster mitigation." Indeed, Washington Monthly editor Daniel Franklin yesterday noted, "The difficulties of coordination seem to indicate we've returned to the bad old days where the FEMA administrator position is given away on the basis of political favor, rather than hard experience."

As is typical, the liberal loonies promoting divisive rhetoric instead of cooperation thinks that this is an issue about "funding".

For people who like Steve, lack the mental capacity of logic, here are the reasons for the disaster we all need to come together to help out with.

New Orleans happens to be BELOW sea level. A category FIVE hurrican hit the area. The levies were breached and thus flooded 80% of the city. Disaster relief has been limited due to power outages, flooding, and lack of phone service. These are the REASONS. NO amount of funding can change the geographic realities that came together to compound the city's problems.

The MAYOR and Governer in the State are responsible for directing resources where they are needed. People of REASON, will look to ways to support and help the people. Retarded loonies like Steve will point fingers and say it is a funding issue.

Dismissed loonie tunes. It's obvious NONE of you have no shame.

The Newhouse News Service article published Tuesday night observed, "The Louisiana congressional delegation urged Congress earlier this year to dedicate a stream of federal money to Louisiana's coast, only to be opposed by the White House. ... In its budget, the Bush administration proposed a significant reduction in funding for southeast Louisiana's chief hurricane protection project. Bush proposed $10.4 million, a sixth of what local officials say they need."

Local officials are now saying, the article reported, that had Washington heeded their warnings about the dire need for hurricane protection, including building up levees and repairing barrier islands, "the damage might not have been nearly as bad as it turned out to be."

Look at all those people after all this time Jimbo and then tell me where the shame lies? Bush reacted just like 9/11...deer in the headlights....

Thumbs down Yeah yeah

On and on and on. The BS from the Left is endless. I am sure he got the same requests from 50 other states as well dorknuts.

Next we'll be hearing how the money that could have been used to reduce the misery in New Orleans was diverted to fight an illegal war for oil and Bush's buddies. Haven't heard that yet. I'm going to need HIP waders for this next Liberal media onslaught of Bush hatred. I can see it coming.

Whine on looney tune! You are all so predictable.

Could not have said it better myself, gold star for you Jimbo!

Why did Bush vacation – cut wood, clear brush, bike, and read -- for days while the world watched Katrina develop, then slam as a category 4 hurricane into the Gulf Coast? Just as he did on September 11, 2001, he froze. They don’t have cable or telephones in Crawford? The unfolding catastrophe has Bush leadership skills, or lack thereof, written all over it. He treats his own citizens with the same contempt and callousness as he does the Iraqi civilians – as “collateral damage.” If a category 4 hurricane is not a “bomb” dropping on American soil, what is? Bush remained on vacation one whole day after Katrina hit, WAITING FOR WHAT? The federal government was ‘missing in action’ and has failed its citizens abysmally. And Congress... where the hell are they? They rushed back to Washington over night for one woman’s feeding tube, but can’t seem to find the way back for a destructive hurricane that most likely killed thousands. Are these Americans too poor or not expounding the right religion to garner attention the Trade Tower victims received? They all sat and watched this train wreck, now they are screwing up the rescue and salvage, probably busy searching for the ‘scapegoat’ du jour.

Yep, we wouldn't want the President to vacation. After all, everyone knows the President doesn't work when he is away from the White House.

You're more than absurd Steve, your one major whackjob like your psycho buddy TomBlo.

Carry on!
