Thumbs up Kudos To Delta Airlines

Just heard on the news that DELTA AIRLINES is flying supplies etc into New Orleans and is flying people from that devastated city to ATL and then to anywhere in the country where they may have family. I think that this is the way the American Spirit shows itself.......by deed and compasion.

I know that this is not the proper area for this posting however since so many of us collectors usually check out the 1/400th scale threads first I thought it best to post here. Kudos to Delta and of course to its employees that are enduring tremendous stress levels what with everything else happening in the industry and also with the country during these times.

Enough said have a great day everyone where ever it takes you! wr

I hadn't heard this, but if this is correct, I take my hat off to Delta and their employees and management. All airlines should be doing this, Southwest has a rather large operation at MSY, let's see if they step up to the bat too! You too Continental!

I worked a few flights out MSY today, JBU was flying refugees to SAT and NKS went in there but I don't know where he was going. There was some discussion about getting the FAA to appove the approaches and some mobil military runway lighting was being set up. One pilot said there are no phones, no electricity, cell phones do not work and ACARs does not work on the ground. Hats off to all those guys flying into there.

I wish I could be over at MSY right now. It's gotta be quite a scene... dozens of choppers, thousands of people, lots of money.
A blackhawk is flying over my head every 30 seconds.

Great to see that you are ok. There was someone on W900 worried if you were ok. He made a thread about it on W900, here is the link if you didn't see the thread now. http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...ad.php?t=46463.

A blackhawk over your head every 30 seconds eh? Reminds me of when we had some bad forest fires here in Orlando. Except that it was C-130s and such, and they were like real low.

As for the airlines flying out people, guess thats a good thing, I don't see very much of a reason to stay, with all that sewage and Gasoline in the water.
