Thumbs down Looney Political News of the Week

Dignitaries and officials are expected to be on hand for the return of Jean Charles de Mendeze's body this morning to attend what will probably be a HEROES funeral.

So tell me, why is this dumbass a hero?

Police shot and killed a Brazilian immigrant in a London Subway. Menezes was wearing a large padded coat, conspicuous in the MILD weather, and FLED when undercover police officers approaching him, raisings fears that he might have a bomb beneath his clothes.

DUH. Frankly the thing I find MOST offensive is that the British Government will now compensate the family of this moron who chose to run from police in a subway wearing suspicious clothing after several terrorists bombings.

This person is no hero. He is DUMB. The belief is that he ran from officials because he had either entered the country illegally, or had overstayed his visa. That could be the only "plausible" explanation for such foolish behavior, however, it still does not explain the clothes. Menendez was SOLELY responsible for his OWN actions and NO one should be compensated because the police did their JOB.

Once again, common sense loses.

Carry on!

It is indeed opposite day, Jim - I agree with you 100%.

In an overheated athmosphere like London these days, with potential mass murderers still at large, the smartest thing to do when a policeman shouts something like "Freeze!!! Hands in the air!!!" is to run?

Not even close. That guy was just plain dumb, or suicidal, or he actually had a mojo with the terrorists.

Then again, how much damages could his native country possibly extort from the UK for this?
