Yeah I bought a subscription to Keyhole about four months ago. It was about $30 and worth it at the time. I guess what Google decided to do when they bought Keyhole was make it free and make a version available to purchase. I was given a free two-year extension to my subscription and some advanced features. I'll have to download the free version to see the differences. I've got placemarks for at least 1,000 airports in the US, Canada, Mexico, throughout Europe and Asia. If found all kinds of interesting places in GoogleEarth. I've found Doc Brown's mansion from Back to The Future. I've found the Six Feet Under house/mortuary. I've seen the Brady Bunch house and the original location of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre houses. I go and look around airports to see if I can see if they caught any aircraft in sight. If you look around LAX, a little to the southwest of the runways, in the ocean, there is a Dash-8 around somewhere. I've seen Neverland Ranch and lots of theme parks. There is so much to explore in GoogleEarth and I'm happy that Google made it free.

BTW if you want any of those placemarks, just let me know. I can send them to you. All you have to do is open them in Earth.

I was disapointed when I first got Keyhole. They didn't cover most of the New Orleans area. When they released they renamed everything the new regular database contains a lot more than the legacy one. The only major airport not in their current coverage is Pittsburgh (KPIT). It sounds to me like they're always updating their database. I don't know what Google has planned for this tool but I hope they expand and keep updating it.

It is also a great tool for exploring geologicaly interesting places. My dad's the chair of the geology department at Tulane and has never seen a tool like this readily available. He can make movies of volcanoes to put into his lectures and presentations. I've never seen him so happy about something I found.
