Believe it or not there is a history to this model...It was produced solely for Boeing for the 787 rollout and only a certain amount were ever exclusively made. Boeing then had the mould destroyed so this model is a one off....Is it worth $3000.00??? In my opinion no way, but maybe some nutcase out there wants a very rare one off model....

Thanks CrownV ... that then definitely justifies the nominal price tag ...

Ironically, as "rare" as it may be, if the SELLER does NOT post the information that you have provided (regarding the mold being destroyed and the model being EXTREMELY rare), why would any soul on planet Earth even remotely consider such an item?

Not that I would buy it knowing the details, but at least it gives some "hint" as to why he is trying to GOUGE some sucker into buying it.

eBay should have a "GOUGING" button that allows users to click on, thereby providing a self-policing system to prevent this kind of white-collar crime from taking place.

No rule saying you can't charge whatever you want on eBay...it's always buyer beware. Anybody wants to post a stupid chunk of zinc for $3000 is welcome, and if some idiot wants to buy it, more power to them.

It looks like a little piece of crap that you would find in the toy aisle at Walgreen's.

Well, there's always the smart, rip-off artist, money-grab seller and the dumb, desperate and rich buyer...

Why would Boeing destroy the mould? Why would they produce a mould of their own when they know so many model manufacturers already have a mould like this and even better? It looks like a Matchbox toy anyways.
