Hi Marco,
That Moomins is a real son of a gun. He knows that I know that he's also known as Jose Tika. He actually lives in the Andes, and back in th 1970's was able to handcraft model cars out of solid silver, without drawings, just a couple of photos. I see he's now turned to model aircraft as well.
In the old days it was even more difficult to get hold of him because he didn't even have a passport and relied on a KLM captain to visit him once a year to deliver new orders and collect the finished items. All his stuff was shipped out from S. America via Amsterdam. He turns up at the odd show these days, usually in the Spring.
He won't reply for ages. My friends Lirpa Loof, and Uckfa Foa have been stitched up by him before and no longer bother to reply to his ads.

Have I heard back from him regarding shipping charge since then? NOPE.

He must live VERY far from a post office.

I saved that money to buy my IF200 PAN AM BILLBOARD B741.

If he's still up in The Andes he probably is far from a post office, that's why the KLM captain had to visit. BUT I know an even stranger collector, Lacitcarp Ekoj. He's an aborigine still living in the Ozzie outback. Strange?..........he hand carves his own models in tea tree wood, and only for his own collection. He only collects pre-war jet airliner models. Quite amazing when you think he's never seen a real airplane of any kind.

Lucky old you Chris. Jose Tika doesn't always respond that quickly. Lacitcarp Ekoj the previously mentioned Abbo, has waited 14 years for a solid silver model of a jet powered boomerang that he ordered on April 1st 1993. A mutual friend Frala Nivah (from neighbouring Chile) has offered to hike up to Jose's place and shake him up it bit. Frala Nivah, by the way is an absolute master of anagrams and wordspell, so he'll probably confuse the situation even more.
Needless to say Lirpa Loof and my old back slang mate, Uckfa Foa are still awaiting the final outcome of this whole thread.

UPS747 is correct. My wife gave birth to our second child on March 31/07 (three weeks early). She's a sweetheart, but has been having breathing problems, which requires someone to stay up with her on a constant basis.

If you consider me to be a deadbeat for concentrating on her well being, then whatever. You're entitled to your opinion and I couldn't care less what you think. Also, e-mailing you to to keep you "up to date" on the status of the situation is the least of my concerns at this point. If that's not acceptable to you, then go buy your models somewhere else.

BTW, if you were so worried about your quote, then why did you not send me an e-mail, rather than spouting off on here? Based on my explanation above, it would probably go without saying that I haven't been here much as of late.

You didn't lose any money, so my suggestion would be to drop the whole topic. Everyone has circumstances that are beyond their control, I recently had an eBay transaction where there person was in the hospital to have an emergency procedure done for his gaul bladder. Stuff in life happens, not to mention it's his right not to sell to whomever he doesn't want to.

Moomins, It sounds like you have been real busy and stressed lately and didn't have the capacity to communicate at model airplane level. Because Jason didn't know that he thought he was being jerked around.

Jason, I'm sure that if you had known Moomins situation, you wouldn't have been so harsh.

As for me, because the thread was activated for April 1st I thought it was a joke! (I guess you do April Fool's Day over there?)

Because we suffer with the condition of being human, (which implies not perfect) these kind of things will happen. If we could try understanding our "brothers" including their mistakes, a lot of this would be not be necessary.

I had NO IDEA that he had a baby! Had I known that, I would've NEVER written about my personal account with this seller here. I wrote my personal account NOT KNOWING his situation; yet he wrote his personal account KNOWING what communication we have already exchanged. He DID write that he will tell me shipping charges the next day! Which was THREE WEEKS AGO tomorrow.

I was just patiently waiting (three weeks), that's all. It's real unfortunate this deal went sour.

I now know that he had a situation. As mentioned previously, I ADMIT it was my misunderstanding, no need to go further; I didn't ask him to acknowledge that I wasn't given neither the payment method nor the shipping charges.

Uckfa Foa is a little different. I'll leave you to work out from the following so called back slang.

Take a word say "diecast". Remove the first letter and place it on the end of the word. So "diecast becomes" "iecastd". If it doesn't sound correct place a vowel on the end of the new spelling. "Iecastda".

So if you collect. Model aircraft, in backslang you collect odelma ircrafta.

Probably invented in parts of London when short frases of backslang were used when in public and wanted to keep your comments private and secret.
