Question Airlines for the airports

Hi. How many different airlines does each person plan on having for their own airport diaroma? Personally, I have 49 different airlines for my planned JFK airport layout, including American Eagle and Delta Connection. 48 "realistic" airlines currently serving JFK, plus Continental. I wish CO would set up shop at JFK and create a mini hub, but it's just a pipe dream. If Herpa or Star Jets ever produce an Aerolineas Argentina 747 and a Virgin Atlantic 747/340, I'd be a happy guy..

Talking

Well JFKNY I'm in the process of building a Hawaiian Airport based in Maui and so far I have about 5 different airlines which will fly in and out of Kannapali International. Hawaiian and Aloha are of course the main airlines of the airport. Canadian and AirCanada come in second and JAL in third. I'm still thinking whether or not I should go buy some Delta or United planes considering in real life they both make frequent stopovers in Maui.

Thanks From Sean

I think right now we have 50 airlines flying in or so. There could be as many as 70 I haven't really counted. We have an open sky policy so whoever wants to come can come right on in.

I would love to put on my airport more Asian Airlines as seen regularly in our local aiport. But I would love to park some American PLanes like Delta and other airlines from Europe that dont visit Manila.

Too bad my airport can only accomodate 7 planes at a time.

What are you going to use for DC and AE? I wasn't aware that such models were out. Personally, I would LOVE some EMB-145's in AE livery.

To answer your question...my airport is a ficticious US airport. But so far mine has United and American using it as a mini-hub, with several other domestic carriers flying in. I am working on the international hub soon.

For Delta Connection, I am using the DC from Skywest..I know...a stretch, but ya got to do what u got to do...once the new Delta Connection model is released I will use those....as for American Eagle, i am using (gulp!) the Saab 340s from Schabak...hopefully, one of the model makers will release AE models such as the ERJ-45, etc....or even the Delta Connection Dornier model....

Default How Many Airlines

At Somerset Int'l Airport there are now 420 scheduled flights among 57 air carriers. The schedules are based on flights from JFK, EWR, LGA & PHL. Contiental, United, Delta, American/TWA, USAIR are the major, Hopefully there will be some Jet Blue models out in a littlle while.

My airport's still in the conceptual phase, so I haven't decided how many airlines to include yet. At first I wanted to make it a specific airport in the late 1960s/early 1970s, since my collection is focused on that era. I decided it's too limiting, though -- too many models I really like would be stuck on the shelf. I think it will just be a generic airport, and I won't worry too much about aircraft anachronisms.

Since I'm not as handy as some of you guys, I've picked up the eztoyz mat and the Herpa Airport set, but I want to personalize it. I've got my own main terminal partly built (adapting Erick's CD-case concept) to go with the Herpa concourses. Construction has been suspended, however, until myself and my airport complete our planned relocation to Germany in two weeks!

Thanks for posting your photos and giving so many great ideas. Any feedback or guidance also is much appreciated!
