How many of you, every time you go to the airport, take pictures of the tarmac, etc.? This helps me design my airport with lots of detail.

I do exactly the same thing. I also go on airliners.net and look at other airport photographs to help me design the perfect airport.
Great Topic!!!!!! Thanks From Sean |

Same here. It is easy to imagine you know what an airport looks like when you are building your model...but actually having photos and recent eye-balling of an airport really makes a difference.

It does help having some pictures and looking at building details and signs. MIA and FLL both have similar design if you look at cargo and concourse areas. Broward county approved the new design (a 10 year LPR), additional terminal, hotel, new wide body runway and transportation to the Ports as well.

Although I have yet to begin contruction of my own airport due to limited space, I have done quite a bit of research. I have found that the FAA site has great documentation for the layout, design, and markings for the runways and some tarmac areas.
The documents are illustrated with the proper layout of signage, runway numbering, etc. Hope this is helpful. Steve
