Some major changes have come about at FLK. The original terminal was heavily modified, and the western pod was removed. It now has 2 concourses.
Any comments/questions/suggestions are very welcome! Click under 08/08/01 update for pictures! http://www.geocities.com/flick70/airline/ |

Hey ... well done ... I really like the latest iteration of FLK ... looks really good with the two concourses ...
Cool thing about using Lego is that you can make changes quickly and easily ... and it also gives you the opportunity to model all the differences in architecture seen amongst terminal buildings at most major int'l airports Gordon. |

Flick do you know if your jetway attachment clip piece will hold a Herpa Jetway?

By the way, LEGO sells the finishing tiles on their website at much better rates than on Brickbay. $4.99US for 100 tiles. The website is http://www.lego.com Quote:

flick70,
Great airport! What store on brickbay.com did you purchase your lego pieces from. In addition what exact lego parts did you purchase to make your terminals (part #'s)? They look excellent! Last edited by metz31689; 08-09-2001 at 08:32 PM. |

I may need some finishing plates now, After my move I'll check, i found a way to incorperate herpa jetways. Take the small 1x1 round piece, and put in some play-dough or child's clay and stick the jetway spindle in.

My terminals are primarily light grey 1x? bricks. For windows I use light grey 1x4 and 1x2 plates and then use dark grey 1x1 plates (very tedious work, but when done if you look closely it looks like individual panes of glass). The important part is the light grey 1 x 2 brick w/ clip. These work excellent for attaching Gemini Jets jetways. I finish off the jetways with a triple-slope on top. And lastly, the most important part of my terminals, I use 2x2 black finishing tiles to eliminate the "LEGO" look. If you need part numbers, email me. I need to look them up! |

It is a great idea! I am going to try it out. Yes, I do need the part numbers to order the legos, and the names of the stores you ordered them from. But please, you don't have to look them up. Only if you really want to.

I just used Legos from kits I had when I was little. No reason to go out and buy some.
The purpose of legso was to not spend any money, but if its gunna be your major terminal design you might want to buy some legos.

Looking good I must say !!
How many sheep are employed at FLK to keep the gras always the same height ? ;-)) The buildings don't look too much lego-like at all. But I admit that I haven't paid any attention at all on the worlds greatest toy for a couple years. My sons turning two in November so I guess I would only have found out in a year or two. Cheers Tom |

I love your airport Flick 70.
If you like brickbay, they you should also check out news.lugnet.com and www.brickshelf.com. Lugnet is the home of the online home of the Lego User's Group (unofficial). It maintains hundreds of usenet groups about various Lego topics and it is visited by hundreds, if not thousands of people a day. Brickshelf.com is the home to hundreds of users' photos of their Lego creations. I am sure that people at both sites would love to see your set-up (And anyone else's that is made out of Lego bricks), though the Lego "purists" might balk at the use of non-Lego airplanes in a Lego model. ![]() |
