Well, I am finally settled in my new place, have a permanent place for my layout, so I have been working on finishing it for the last few days. When I first set it up though, the sun had began to set so a grabbed some planes and GSE and let the natural light (not the beer that is usually in my shots) do the rest
Enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Dylan, I have always felt that the two finest airports constructed from scratch by collectors are Perth, Australia and yours.
When guys come on here posting pictures of their hybrid Lego/Herpa abominations replete with mascara whore-like guide lines and toupee tufts of Serengetti grass, I cringe and reach for the straight razor. Way to go, hats off - you must really enjoy owning this. Steven De Lisser |

Now I see them, very nice work there Dylan. I remember seeing this one before but you seem to have picked up one or two more pieces of GSE to jazz it up a little. Super is about all I can say, just let me look at it a little more here.............Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... .........

These are great shots of a great model layout. But somebody needs to do something about the trash along the airport perimeter...it's getting ridiculous. Could be a real FOD problem...

Steve, that's a cloud. Sheesh...of all people YOU should know San Diego gets the fast-moving broken layers that move in off the coast. I pull out all the stops.

Beautiful airport, Dylan.
Excellent attention to detail. Was just there yesterday and it looks EXACTLY like the real thing.

Dylan,
This diorama represents KSAN at it's best. Your work has brought back an era to many who have travelled through to San Diego. I can still remember walking around this airport in the mid 90's with terminal 1 and 2 not connected (along with no terminal 3 as of yet). With this, I remember the large amount of unique aircrafts that would frequent it by airlines... i.e. L-1011's, DC-10's, 747's... Great job, and props to you for doing such great work. |

I recognize that airport. The year was 1984 and a PSA 727 took me from GEG-SAN so I could 'visit' the Marine Corps recruit depot. Thanks for bringing up such scarring memories Dylan.
On a side note, nice job! |
