Default My new airport project

Hello Everybody,

Here is a picture of my latest project. I decided to make this airport with a tropical feeling for two reasons, first: it is a nice contrast to my scandinavian airport below, that is coverd in snow, second: I had an excuse to buy the only Herpa accessory that I did not have, Palmtrees.

The buildings are from Airport Designs in England. They are nice looking I think, but they need skills and patience, when you put them together.

I will post more pictures later on

Best regards

Henrik

Here is a "close up" of the control tower. This model is a replica of the old Controltower at Heathrow airport in London.

Nice work. and it's good to see a lot more of these London Design buildings popping up. I have been constructing mine as well, but don't really have too much to show for it just yet.

Keep us updated... the tower looks like a tricky building to have put together!

Your airports look great, good idea using a shelf for another airport. I bet the Heathrow control tower took you a while to make, well worth it though.

Did you use spray mount glue to stick the pavements down with, was it successful.

I used wallpaper glue to stick down the foils. I have bad experiance of using Spray Mount in my earlier projects. This is my third airport by the way, so it now starts to be a little tight in this room. Maybe it's time to see a psycologist. Ha ha..

Henrik,

do you have the satellite building as well? (The circular/octagonal one). There aren't any photos of this building in a proper diorama setting on the London Designs website, when you get some time I wouldn't mind seeing some photos of yours.

I'm (as we speak) constructing another part of my terminal. Patience is the key!

Hello Abraxas,

Here is a picture of the octagon terminal. It is connected to the main terminal, so in this diorama it's no satellite.

Enjoy!

Thanks Henrik. It all looks great

Will see how my own project develops, I was thinking of using the Satellite also, but I think I've got a new design which won't need it, unless I expand in the future!

Regards,

Dan

Dear Henrik. What a sight, You are good.

I envy you so much, I know the model is a 500 scale, but darn, what I would give to get myself a SAS A343 in 400 scale..

Please Gemini Jets, Please make the SAS A340-300. Or Dragon Wings, I dont care. lol

Here's some pictures of Dragon Wings SAS A330-343, probably not what you want, but it is what it is.
